I think dd is coming down with bronchiolitis. She has the beginning symptoms, runny, stuffy nose with tons of secretions and saliva. I was up with her all night. She chokes and coughs on her secretions. I've been suctioning her with saline often to keep her clear. I feel so bad for her! Anyone else have a sick one yet? I HATE rsv season!

I hope your DD is well soon and that no one else there gets it!

So far, the twins have managed to avoid the colds/coughs we've had lately. I'm thankful for the costly albeit effective RSV shots we've had so far. . .

yes both my twins have been sick since they were born...keep them elevated and use baby vicks it definately helps when they are trying to sleep. If they are still young enough allow them to sleep in their car seats for drainage purposes...lying down flat will cause them to choke on their phlegm. Or elevate one end of the crib.

D & E had severe RSV in the first month of life, life support in Dev's case, and now have nasty colds, but not RSV. Keep suctioning and wiping. Ditto on the humidifier and vicks for humidifiers too. We found baby vicks on a tissue by their heads worked better than puttin it on them as well as elevating the mattresses while they slept. This too shall pass.

IS RSV a cold shot? Where is it available?

How do you know if it is RSV or a cold?

Hannah is currently on antibiotics for a respiratory infection, uck. I was scared to death it was rsv, she was coughing and weezing and beyond "stuffy." We are on the rsv shots so I was going to be doubly upset if that test had come back positive! Thankfully it was negative and the ped went with antibiotics and a cough suppressant. Good luck in getting healthy, this time of year is hard, especially if your weather is crazy like ours!
