My boys are 11 months old and this is the first time they seem to be really getting sick. Dh has been sick with a really bad sinus type thing and sure enough both boys are running a fever. James was 103.2 this morning and Jack just had a low fever. Anyway I gave them both Tylenol and the fevers came down a little but James has a pretty bad cough. They are just so fussy! Should I put them down for naps earlier and more often? What else can I do for them? Their little noses are getting stuffier and stuffier and they just seem miserable, they don't want to eat and they won't drink out of their sippies, they olny finished 4 oz of their bottles this morning. I just don't have any experience with this, they have had a couple minor colds but never fevers so I am kind of clueless.

I would go ahead and take them in to the pedi. Sounds like his temp is pretty high and maybe if you went ahead and took them in you could catch the sickness before it gets to bad. Hope your little ones get better soon. We have been sick at our house too and it is not any fun.

It could be ear infections...if their temps are that high I would call the doctor-they may need antibiotics. You could try steaming up the bathroom with a hot shower and sitting in there with them, also maybe rub a little vicks on their chest and use a cool mist vaporizer in their room to sleep.
Poor babies...I hate when they are sick, it breaks my heart!
I hope they feel better soon!

I would probably go on and take them in too. Our pedi has always said if it's 100.1 that I need to bring them in.
Sorry they don't feel so good! Hope all is well and they're back to 100% soon! :)

I'd call the pedi, but you can also do saline drops and the nasal bulb along with a humidifier. Hope they are feeling better soon.

Agree with PPs about calling the pedi... but also want to say, I went through a bout of Roseola virus with both of mine where they had high temps for several days and were very cranky/fussy. This was hard to do but the only thing that seemed to make them feel better was if I was holding them. I guess they just wanted comforting.

We are in the same boat so I just wanted to offer :hug99: . We're totally in survival mode at this point, as I am coming down with it, too! It's awful. I feel so bad for my babies.

All four of us have a cold right now, but the boys are over the fever. Our doc said we could try some infant pediacare drops as well as all the other pp suggestions of humidifier, saline drops, bulb syringe, extra fluids like pedialyte or juice and water. Good luck, it's no fun right now at our house either.
