Shrinking Uterus

How many weeks/months did it take for your uterus to return to its preprego size? I delivered by twins 6 weeks ago and my abdomen is still quite swollen.

 

I think I'm the exception, but at my six week post-partum appointment my doctor told me that if he hadn't delivered me he would hardly have believed that I had had twins. My uterus was small, but I still had a bit of the dough-y belly fat to lose.

 

I think by 6 weeks your uterus is back to it's original size but it's going to take another 8-12 months for the skin on your stomach to stop looking like a deflated balloon. It's gradual but you will look much better by their first birthday.

 

Hmm... I wonder if something else is going on with me then. It's been 6 weeks on Friday and again my stomach is still protruding. I am quite petite 105 lbs and gained to 152 so I wonder if this has something to do with it. Thanks for the response.

 

It might be something else. My uterus was back to normal and low in my pelvis by my 6 week appointment

My peri told me that it depends on how you carried. I carried very very large and it took me a long while for my uterus to go back. At 4 months I went to my RE and he said that it still had a tiny bit of shrinking to do.
