    Hi!

I read that typically with first pregnancies you don't start to "show" until week 16-18-ish, even with twins. I"m 11.5wks pregnant with Fraternal twins and I have the "sausage roll". I"m fairly tall at 5'11 and about 20lbs overweight to begin with (although hidden well) but I can't hide this!!
I still haven't gained any weight, but the top of my stomach has a huge roll.... :icon_eek:

anyone else experiece this?? Is this normal??

    thanks!!

I started showing around the same time. And it was just like you described...a bump near the top of my belly. Maybe it's everything else starting to get pushed up to make room for babies. Have fun...your pregnancy will fly :)

With my first pregnancy (singleton) I could no longer wear my regualr pants by 10-11 weeks. It was summer so I just wore dresses alot.

Our bodies all react differently. I say it's totally normal.

I noticed it in myself at 9 weeks but others didn't seem to notice my belly until I was about 12-14 weeks along. I was definitely showing, though, by 11 weeks, at least to myself and those that know me well.

I was traveling and ate out from the Wednesday before Memorial Day and noticed that my pants weren't fitting so well when I got home Monday night. I found out that I was having twins on that Tuesday! I am now 11 weeks and started wearing maternity pants this week. They are just more comfortable right now. I didn't start wearing maternity pants until I was 4 months pregnant with my son.

I was pretty much showing at 9 weeks. It may not have been obvious to strangers, but it was obvious to anyone who knew me. I don't know how much of it was baby at that point and how much was the nonstop eating I'd been doing since 4 weeks.

    Hi Rebecca!

I am tall too, 5'10, and I was definitely poking out by 12 weeks. In fact, in full maternity clothes. I do attribute some of that to them being #4 and 5 though!

My regular clothes were getting too small by the time I decided to take a home pregnancy test. I think I was maybe 4-6 weeks at that time. I hadn't thought too much about being pregnant even though we had decided to try and weren't doing anything to prevent it. I attributed my weight gain to eating out for weeks at a time while on business trips. Looking back, I realize I was already gaining weight and it was showing since I was having twins (which I didn't find out about until my 20 week US)!

[SIZE=10pt]I was showing by then as well.

I would wear bigger shirts and used a rubber band to hold my jeans on until I started telling everyone that I was pregnant.

It was my third pregnancy....but with twins I'm not sure it matters if you have other children. Some women just show earlier

    April :)

Just a little tidbit for you...

At least 20% of di/di twins are really identical. I was told mine were fraternal too, but there is really no way to know for sure. (Unless they are boy/girl, of course!)

with my first pregnancy, I was showing around 11 weeks - I also had that roll but I resisted maternity clothes for another 3 or 4 weeks .
    but......
I was showing and wearing maternity clothes at 9 weeks with the twins!! I had one guy ask me if I was 6 months  yeah, I was HUGE!

I was at the park today with DD, and someone asked me if I knew what I was having. I told her it was too early to know. When her eyes bugged out, I told her it was twins.

At almost 13 weeks, I literally look like I did when I was 6 months pregnant with DD.

Well, i didn't really start showing till i was maybe 5 months pregnant. Sounds like everyone else did sooner. I was overweight to begin with so maybe thats why. I think I just looked fat. I do look pregnant now but no one believes me when i say i am pregnant with twins. I think i am big though. I guess they expect me to look bigger. I had appointment on Wed and I am officially up 28 pounds.. I am sure I have plenty of gaining and growing to come!!

I started showing earlier than with my previous 2 pregnancies and now that I am 20 weeks I am just about the same size I was when I delivered my last two. I am so scared that I will not have enough room because I already feel like I am going to explode!! To think I have (hopefully) 17 more weeks to go really freaks me out. It makes me feel better knowing that my babies are gaining weight and are on the bigger side-thanks to the protein drinks no doubt!!

YES! Be careful about declaring that the babies are fraternal this early in the pregnancy without knowing that they are b/g (and maybe do doknow from an amnio or something. A good percentage of ID have separate placentas and sacs.
