My girls are almost 4 months old. They are eating 8 oz's almost every feeding and eating every 3-3.5 hours with the exception of overnight when they make it about 8 hours. Right now during the day they are getting formula with the feeding right before bed being the ebm from the day. Should they be eating this much formula/ebm or should I start using some cereal in bottle to help sustain them between meals? It seem like from reading other posts that they are eating more than most others at this age.

Just two days ago I was at my peds and she said I could conidder starting cereal at for months non adjusted. I have decided to try to get closer to six, but check with your ped first... [IMG]

Sounds like you have two terrific growing babies! [IMG]

So...they get 5-6 8oz bottles a day? Which is 40-48oz, which is alot! I would tell your ped how much they are drinking, and ask his opinion on starting cereal...you have some big eaters!! [IMG]

Ya, I think they got sick of everyone saying how "sick and skinny" they looked. So they decided to show them. [IMG]

Check with your pedi, but some don't think cereal stretches out feeding time any.

I've always waited until 5-6 months to try cereal - and none of my kids have been big fans!

deffinately get the go ahead from the ped first but we started my one dd on cereal at 4 months. She weighed just over 16 lbs. and like your girls she was eating about 40 oz a day. If you do start, GL! It's a lot of fun starting them on solids. But then again, anything new and different is exciting.

My pedi recommends starting solids closer to 6 months, but not all pedis feel that way. I'd go ahead and check with him first. I have to say I'm really impressed by the amount of food your little ones eat, too bad you live 4 hours away from here, you could teach me how you do it!
