My girls have been eating a ton of food lately. Instead of 5-6 oz bottles they've been wanting 7-8 oz bottles. They're getting three meals a day, but now they're wanting snacks too. Is it possible for them to overeat? Or should I just feed them until they don't want anymore?

At this age it is really hard to overeat. If they do they generally toss it up. There is a book called "Feeding with love and good sense" from Ellyn Satter. She is the end all be all of childhood feeding dynamics and how to prevent obese or children with eating disorders. She states that at this age it is your job to offer a wide varienty of foods that are healty and it is their job to choose which of those foods to eat and home much of those foods to eat. I hope that helps! They are probably hitting a growth spurt!

I'd say it's okay to feed them - but - I'd feed them all snacks in the highchair too. That way they don't get used to "grazing" as they roam the house. If they want a snack, okay, but they have to sit in the highchair.

My pediatrician told me that whatever they don't need they will spit back at you. I let my girls eat until they are full. They eat three full meals a day with at least 4 oz bottles and a fourth liquid feeding that is 7-8 ozs. at bedtime. They even snack from time to time. Of course, mine are a little older than yours, but they have been following this meal schedule for a while.
