Should I feel guilty?

Katie likes to just lay around and look or sit in her bouncy chair... she doesn't fuss much at all. I feel like I don't interact with her enough, but she seems to enjoy just laying or sitting around...

I feel SO guilty like I am not doing enough...

:hug99: Don't feel guilty. At 4 weeks there isn't much more you can do with her. Just talking to her and giving her things to look at is enough. If she is happy then you are doing great!

I wouldnt feel guilty. She is only a month old so she is just enjoying taking in her surroundings. Give her an occasional smile and a talkin' too and I am sure she is just fine. Congrats again on your new baby girl. She is just precious. Makes me miss the baby stage (just a bit).

Nope, she will let you know if she needs attention. Baby's that age like to lay back and take it all in. You're doing a fine job :)

Jamie-there is nothing to feel guilty about. That is what they do at that age!!

I would not feel guilty at all. Mine were NEVER like that - not even at that age. My sister has a baby that is one week older than my twins (4.5mos now) and hers was and still is like that. She just hangs out, falls asleep when she is tired, and is basically very laid back. My crazy screwballs were never and probably will never be content to just sit back and chill ---- I love my babies to death but..... a little chill time at that age would have been nice too!!!

I felt guilty too when mine were that age! As a first time mom, I thought that I must be doing something wrong, because they were just lying there looking at stuff. Of course now I know that's just what young babies are like. At that age, my cats were more interactive than the babies!

    :hug99: Thanks for the reassurance.

I am NOT use to this one bit. My guys were very hard and very demanding... there was never a dull moment with them as infants!

Didn't we tell you having a singleton would be like a vacation? She'll cry or get fussy if she needs something. Right now she's watching her brothers and you and that's super entertaining to a 1 month old. :)

Don't feel guilty - my now 3 year old and my 4 month old DD were/are like that when my oldest DD and my 4 month old DS are NOT like that. Each child is so different and if she is happy and content then you are doing everything right!!! Enjoy it while it last - my now 3 year old DD changed at 1 year and became literally attached tomy hip - it was a lot of fun to break once I became pregnant with the twins!!!!
