They only get a bedtime bottle with milk..they drink most of it..I'm wondering if I should switch it to a sippy of milk and should I give it as I would the bottle (right before bed)? They don't seem to drink as much with the sippy so I'm worried that if I switch it to a sippy A) they won't drink enough and B) they might be up in the middle of the night b/c they are hungry...they were 6 weeks premature so I have no idea if that has anything to do with anything...
    what do you think?

I would go for it!! Most likely, when they realize that they aren't getting the bottle anymore, they will start drinking better out of the sippy. Good luck!

I think you could offer the sippy cup instead of the bottle. If they are not finishing the bottle, they are not really that hungry. My DS often offers her twin boys a banana and milk or the liquid yogurt drinks right before bedtime, especially if they did not eat a good dinner.

We just dropped the bedtime bottle (they got it 3 nights a week when I worked, I bf the other times) and tried to give them sippies as part of the bedtime routine like we did with bottles......did NOT go over well, lol. So we now just offer milk right after dinner then nothing till bedtime (well, water) and they do more than fine.
And sleep has VERY little to do with how much a child eats, trust they will be fine :)

I kept the bedtime bottle as long as possible and switched at around the same time as you - 14 or 15 months. It was no big deal to them, and I was making a bigger deal out of it than them. My kids were the same way - wouldn't drink as much out of the cup compared to the bottle, but eventually they got the hang of it. If you are concerned about them waking in the night then give them a snack a little bit before bedtime and then the sippy cup with milk before bed, and see how they do. You will probably be pleasantly surprised. Hope it goes well for you. :)

It's going to be INFINITELY easier to do it now than in even 1 month! Go for it!!! :hug99:

I agree. We dropped them cold turkey and my girls never missed them, never woke up hungry, etc. I did notice that they were ravenous in the morning though, so I started bringing a sippy of milk in with me when I go to get them and change their diaper. It satisfies them until diapers are changed and we can get downstairs.

i would go w/ a sippy. my kids were 6 weeks early too and it didn't seem to make a difference (i don't think that is even coming into play for anything these days). they usually don't finish much before bed, and they don't wake up starving.

    you should be fine!

    good luck!

I agree! We dropped ours when they were not feeling too well. I was planning to do it a few weeks later and one night they both only drank 1 oz. of their bedtime bottle and they still slept fine. So the next night they got a sippy with milk in it. They will eventually drink more from a sippy, it take awhile for them to get used to it.
