Should I buy the Graco Pack n Play for twins or two separate single pack n plays?

I'm five months pg with twins and have been driving myself crazy over the Pack n' Play dilemma. I would like a pack n' play to keep downstairs for the twins to nap or play in during the day. I don't plan on taking it too many places, as both grandparents already have places for the babies to sleep. Space is also not a big issue, I don't mind being cramped.

Am I better off getting the pack n' play for twins (bassinet weight limit is 15 lbs per side, bottom part weight limit is 30 lbs total) or should I get two single pack n' plays (bassinet weight limit is 15 lbs total and bottom part weight limit is 30 lbs total)? I just want to be economical and be able to conveniently use the pack n' play for as long as possible.

I would go for the 2 separate ones. That way if you end of traveling once they weigh more than 15 pounds you will have 2 beds for them to sleep in and not have to go out and get another.

we got the twin pack n play and my boys swim in it but like ppl said once the boys reach a certain size they will grow out of it. we just didn't have the room for two seperate pack n plays since our house isn't that big. we mainly got it for the bassinets. i will say this though, the twin pack n play is very large and combersome it takes up a lot of room and is much bigger than the single ones. it also sort of dips in the middle of the bassinets....just something to think about, that and the price.

I would definitely go with two separate ones. It gives you more options too. I have also heard some pretty bad reviews on the twin pnp.

We were given the twin pack and play as a gift. We barely used it. We put them in one crib to share instead. As the pp said they seemed to roll into the middle and I couldn't have them in my room to sleep. You are going to need two pack and plays for when they are older if you travel anyways. Seems like a good concept but doesn't work out so great. Hope that helps.

I say two separate ones...the twin one might be good at first, but in the long run you'll be able to use 2....like if you go vacation and they need a place to sleep when they are older, or if you don' t have a place to store it you could leave it at a relative's house that you frequently visit...that way you don' t have to bring yours places. I picked up a few at yard sales just for that reason. We keep one at my mom's house and one at my MIL's house.

I have done both. I got the twin PnP & recently got a single PnP from a garage sale.
Eventhough I love how big the twin PnP is for 1 of them, I would recommend getting 2 single PnPs.
The twin PnP sheets are hard to find (amazon) and only come in scout green. They also do not
have a changing table like the singleton.
For sleeping awayfromhome idea: indoor tents

    Hope this helps.

We ended up getting a pack 'n play for downstairs and an Arm's Reach co-sleeper for in our room. The benefit of the co-sleeper is that it holds more total weight in the bassinet and play area than the pack 'n play.

Another thing to keep in mind is how much you use your pack 'n play will depend on your kids. Our boys have no problems with sleeping in it at night, but during the day they hate it.

I have a single one from my older children, and got a twin one used from a friend. I thought the bassinet's in the twin one would be great, but they SUCK! It's a pain to get the bassinet part set up right, and it sags in the middle so one twin was always rolling underneath the bassinet edge. The only good part is the bottom is big enough that we took it to the beach last week and both babies still fit together at nearly 6 months. But it's huge, it's bulky, and it's heavy to carry!

I wish I had just gotten a second single pnp, and probably will have to down the line for travelling.

We bought the twin one because our house is also too small for two. We thought the boys could share but that never worked out. You just never know what kind of babies you'll get. One of ours is super wiggly - we call him "Wiggles." The twin bassinets were nice to put them in when they were in the living room, but we found that we just didn't put them in the bassinets much after the first few weeks. They were mostly on blankets on the floor or in boppy pillows if they weren't in their cribs. We also bought mini cribs instead of full-size due to space constraints - so happy we went for mini cribs, they are serving our needs very well.

About a month ago we needed to spend a lot of time at the boys' grandma's house and I didn't know how to do it with our big twin PnP since they just don't sleep together (plus, the two of them together now outweigh the weight restrictions for the Twin PnP). I ended up having to buy 2 small basic PnP's.

In retrospect, dh and I both agree that if we had it to do over again, we'd just buy the 2 PnP's and not the twin PnP. We do use the twin PnP at home for time-outs. Yes, we have to give one of our boys time-outs now. We have a biting issue.

Two separate for sure! If you invest in the one now, you will most likely end up investing in another one in the future. They will be your life saver in the future when you just need to have a minute to clean or start dinner and to keep them safe! I use to use just one but now that they are a litle older they started fighting and bighting so i keep them in 2 separate ones. Hope this helps! :)

I had such a hard time deciding on this too! I started out planning on the twin pnp, but at the last minute changed my mind. I went with a regular pnp and an Arm's Reach co-sleeper. I chose the co-sleeper because it has a higher weight limit - 50 lbs total, and the bassinet could hold 30 lbs. We use the regular pnp in the living room for naps and the co-sleeper in our room. I haven't had a moments regret! Now I am getting ready to move them to cribs for sleeping and move the co-sleeper into the living room for naps.

Definitely separate. I've heard really bad reviews of the twin one, but even if it were good, you'll hit the weight limit quickly and eventually want two anyway.

ETA: Ours both slept side by side in one a lot when we first brought them home because the bassinet is so big. So, I would say for most babies, they can both sleep in one single for the same amount of time they could use the bassinets in the twin one.

I don't have the twin pnp but I do have separate single pnps and absolutely love it! My girls are 6 1/2 weeks old and we have just moved them out of the bassinet portion and they are now sharing one pnp in the bottom section. We have one in the bedroom with us for at night and one in the family room for during the day. Then when we go out we take one of them with us so we always have someplace for them to sleep when out. We used our pnp with my DD (who is now four) until she was like 2 years old - we took it everywhere! Loved it!

I personally think two is a waste of money, mine slept in a regular pnp until they reached the weight limit for the bassinet which did not take long. dd is 12 lbs now and ds is 15 lbs. They lasted until around 2 months in that. I then moved the pnp downstairs and moved one crib into our room. We take the pnp to the lake and the beach with us and we use it in the living room sometimes, but mine prefer the swing when we are in the living room.

We have two and it's very useful. For safety especially, once they start walking and need to walk around them a bit. I have them in one playing together most of the time, but only supervised. There have been times where I've had to leave them for a minute or whatever, so then I separate them.
I never heard of the twin one, but it sounds great. I imagine it's quite big though? Havings the two small ones is nice for traveling, moving around the house, or whatever.
You will probably have more luck selling the single ones too, once you're done with them.

I have one pack and play we had with my daughter. I have taken the kids to a friend's house and she had an extra pack and play so they used two separate ones. When we went on vacation we just borrowed one from the hotel we stayed at and brought one along with us.

Until they were a month old they were sharing the bassinet part in the pack and play and after that they were in their own cribs sharing a room.

I don't think you even need 2, unless you plan on going places where you won't have access to another one.

We did the same thing - a full-size Arm's Reach co-sleeper and a Pack n Play. My girls are 6 months and have only just reached the weight limit for the co-sleeper bassinet (30lbs total - compared to 15lb for the Pack n Play bassinet).
