Should I buy a twin jogger or combi twin?

I am looking to buy yet ANOTHER stroller! I was thinking a double jogging stroller---not because I jog or run (g-d forbid!!!)---but it is good on the trails and streets here in Alaska. We also travel a lot and the kids end of sleeping in the stroller while we are visiting different cities. I just saw a combi twin sport stroller and I LOVED the weight of it and the ease of its folding. Anyone have any suggestions of which is better, more practical, etc????? :)

It really depends on what you will be using it for. How rocky or smooth is the area you travel the most? Will you be lifting it lots in and out of a car, will it fit in the trunk? Does it recline? Carry stuff?

I love my Combi twin savvy. I go lots of places and wanted a lightweight easy to fold stroller. I knew the #1 place I would walk would be to the school and at the school and an occasional store. The combi has all I need. THe snack trays with cup holders are the best. I use them all the time because my older kids keep us on the go!

I agree with Cindy, it depends on what you'll be using it for. I have two strollers, the Double City Jogger and the Combi. I like both, but for different situations. I don't jog, but I like to take long walks in the neighborhood with my kids, so I use the jogger for that and it's great; very easy to steer and handle. But I use the combi for trips to the store in my car; the jogger is heavy and hard to lift in and out of the car. I like how light-weight the combi is. I've found the combi is good for places such as the supermarket and malls which are very flat; I wouldn't want to be taking long walks in my neighborhood with the combi. The other thing I've noticed is the kids seem more comfortable in the jogger and will take naps there more often than in the combi. Good luck!

We just bought a double jogger off of craigslist a couple weeks ago. Actually it's a bike trailer that you can use as a jogger too. I have no idea what brand it is, but its really cute. We plan on loading it up in the back of the station wagon and using it for many summers for Saturday Market, the Forest Fair and for walking the trails by our house. I do still want to get a simple double umbrella stroller (or two single umbrella strollers) for quick trips to the mall.

My DH thinks I'm crazy, but I've already told him that we'll probably end up with 3 or 4 strollers in the garage...one for each different kind of circumstance. :) I refuse to pay full price for one though...I'll just keep watching CL til I find one I like in like-new condition.

Wish I had "experienced" advice for you :p, but I should be coming to you for that!

I'm sure you've heard about the BOB Revolution Duallie jogging stroller before, but I cannot say enough good things about this stroller! I was so sad to give up my Double Snap N Go because it was so easy to use. But I have to say, I have found my Duallie to be even easier to use than the Double Snap N Go! It is faster to set up and tear down. It weighs a little more, but still lightweight and easy to put it in a trunk and remove it by myself. It is a two-step tear down process that takes less time than the Snap N Go, and setting it up takes a couple of seconds. It has an incredibly smooth ride (suspension system), the largest individual sunshades I've ever seen, a fixed or swivel front wheel (your choice) and tons of other features. Oh, and I can push it with one finger.

I had a hard time spending the money, but I am so glad I went for it. The quality and features are worth it. Even my DH eventually came around to the expense after he used it!

It definatly depends on the type of vehicle you own. I have a minivan and sometimes have a hard time loading my jogger. Its very heavy and bulky, whereas my twin savvy is very compact and lightwieght.

If you do get a jogger and have the money definatly get a Bob Revolution...those are awesome, Id love to have one of those. If not make sure you get a jogger with a front swivvel wheel. Mine is stationary and can be a pain in the butt. I also doubt that my jogger would fit in through some store doors.

One other things to think about, if you wait a few months you can get a Choo Choo wagon My family ordered one for my kids for their bday next month and all the twin and trip moms around here swear by them, they are easy to turn, lightwieght and great when shopping, since you just drag the train behind you.

THanks so far for the ideas. I REALLY like the Bob Revolution but I can't get over the price tag!!! Hmmmm.....
Does the Combi twin sport have a cupholder or a tray for the kids? DO I really need a tray for the kids?
I absolutely LOVE the cho-cho train---thanks for sharing that idea!

hi I was reading your reply and i hane a snap n go as well.. when you put your carseats in it does part of it lift? I found just one part of the underneath would click securely in and the other part would lift up easy.. I was afraid if I went over a bump it would lift off..
    thanks

    Hi,

I opted for the Baby Jogger City Series Double -- and LOVE this stroller -- there were tons of high marks for the stroller in previous posts when I did a search. Now, it is 33.6 pounds and it folds in half, not in quarters like the Combi twin -- but they are different strollers for different things. right now, I went iwth the baby jogger as my first stroller and will see if I really need a second lightweight one. The twin aria is lightest, but it feels so cheap, I can't get over paying $325 for it. I got my baby jogger from www.babyjogger.com and if you call them they offer a 10% twin discount, so it cost me about $500 for the 2007 model which has triple section visors, a must have.

I may still get a lightweight stroller for the store, etc. but I will definitely find a used one since I'll likely end up breaking it real quick, what with all the plastic on those things.

    Good luck

I would recommend any kind of swivel wheel jogger. I have the InStep Safari jogger and absolutely love it. It is half the price of the duallie at about $250. I might have been able to convince dh to get that top of the line duallie or something like that initally, but this is our 4th/5th stroller.

I don't have the combi, but I can tell you that since my girls were about 2 years old (now almost 3) we have used nothing but the jogger. We take it everywhere, including the mall and supermarket. Any store we can't fit into isn't a store that would be kid friendly anyway, so it isn't a problem. Very easy to move from folded position to ready to go.

I have had the snap and go, graco tandem, graco sbs, and a (free) fixed wheel instep jogger (which I hated). This stroller that we have now is all we need and I wish I'd known sooner. If you end up getting a smaller stroller of any kind, be aware that as the kids get bigger, it gets harder to push no matter where you are, so the shelf-life on a regular stroller is more limited. Even though my kids frequently walk just about everywhere now, they still get tired (or wild) and need to sit in a stroller. We are confident that we will still be using this stroller well into their 3rd year or possibly beyond for fairs/ disneyland type places.

The cons of most joggers are: the cost, weight, size, and ease of lifting. We have an Odessy and it fits easily back there as well as in an explorer. I've never tried to put it into our Accord, so I don't know if it would fit.
