Should I buy a booster seat?

One of my guys has been using a chair that snaps to the bench, the other one is in a cheap cosco high chair. I want to get us a dining table so we can all sit together and eat. What chair should I get? A booster or the 'youth chair' like the one below? cheap, will slide up to the table and isn't too ugly. Are they too young for a booster?

My guys do so much better in booster chairs. We have the Safety First brand, they were 14 bucks at walmart. They are blue, and they have straps that tie them in. We take them everywhere with us, as well as use them at home. What a lifesaver they have been.

I wouldn't spend that much on a chair. If memory serves, they are not cheap. That said, I had the kind that strap to the chair and pull up to the table or are able to be used with the tray. We graduated to booster seats (Cooshie) after their 2nd bday. It's hard because they still like to spill and play in stuff every once in a while and now the mess isn't nearly as contained.

If you can manage it, you can probably use those type for a decent amt. of time but by 2-2.5 they aren't going to want to be in those - in all likelihood....

    Good luck with your decision!

We also have the ones that strap to the chairs. This way they can be seatbelted or not. Trays or not. They do go under our table. I think I paid about 25 each at BRU.

We had the boosters that strap onto the chairs too. They were easy to clean, we could take them with us when we went visiting because they folded flat, and we got lots of use out of them. I think that they'd outgrow the restaurant style faster.

I have these First Years Seats and have been using them since they were 6 months old, and see us using them until maybe they are 3. I still use them with the trays, but I could take the trays off and pull them up to the table if desired. Right now, we have them up to the table, but still with their trays. I like being able to wipe off their trays and not have a mess on the table. They strap right on to our dining room chairs. You can buy other similar booster seat type things for less since you are past the age of needing the reclining feature.
