ok so I work full time with over time usually 9 hour day sometimes more....but I'm just so wore out at the end of the day did anyone else feel the need to have shorter days at 24 weeks???? Or am I just a wuss?

Not a wuss at all! :hug99: I felt I needed/wanted it at 24 weeks but my job was me sitting all day so my doctor didn't want to take me out. <_< But at 30 weeks, he listened and did then. I think if you feel that it's too much you should talk to your doctor and see if he can get you to work fewer hours. :hug99: You know your body best, so do what you feel you need.

26 weeks here. Though I would certainly have liked to go PT earlier. I had planned on going PT at 30 weeks (hah!), so I was trying to stick it out, but it was 26 weeks when I decided I just couldn't do it anymore. And I have a very laid-back desk job -- low mental stress, no physical exertion. If either of those things had been different, I would have gone PT earlier.

[SIZE=12pt]While I don't work outside the home, taking care of three boys is pretty exhausting and I know I'm worn out by about 2 or 3 in the afternoon. It's been a gradual thing for me over the last couple of weeks and I don't necessarily feel it every day but most days by dinner time I'd really like for someone else to be me so I can go to bed!!! :p

I don't think you're a wuss(sp?) I think you're pregnant with twins!!! ;) When your body starts to tell you to slow down, I think you should listen to it. :)

LOL I mean wuss.....anyways I have a mainly sitting job too and I think my Dr would have no trouble letting me but I'm worried about work.....I'm the insurance carrier and if I work less than 40 hours a week doesn't that mean I'm not full time so no insurance??? I'm so wore out by the end of the day I go home and want to do nothing.....my house is s wreck.

Well, till 25 weeks, I did not feel tired. But the last two weeks, I have been feeling exhausted working full time. Mine is a desk job too, but that doesn't make things easier I guess :) My doctor has anyway asked me to stop driving after 28 weeks (just as a precaution). So, after 28 weeks, I'll be telecommuting for a few days and then take some personal leave before going on maternity leave.
I guess, having twins and carrying their weight does take a toll :) My first experience, so can't comment much...but just my thoughts :)

My OB already has warned me that she wants me to work at home starting around 24 weeks! I too have a pretty laid-back desk job but she wants me to keep my feet up as much as possible during my 3rd tri.
No, you're not a wuss, you're gestating TWO babies! That's a lot of work for your body to do!

I might talk to my HR department about the pt thing and see if I'd lose my insurance?!?

I was only working part-time while I was pregnant with the twins (3.75 hours a day) teaching, but I was wore out by the end of my time. You need to cut your hours when you feel you need to. It might be time to do that. :hug99:

I don't think you are a wuss.... I'm on modified bed rest already, but if I weren't, my doctor told me he'd write me out completely between 20-24 weeks.

I was exhausted working, even though it was a desk job!

The way my job did it was I went on part time disablity. I'm not sure of the official term for it, but it made it that I kept my insurance and I was part time. Because I JUST remembered that for the last two weeks before I left work I did only do part time. Even when I did leave work and it wasn't "maternity leave" {since I didn't have the babies yet} I still held on to my insurance and I got paid for that time too. I definately think you should put a call in to your HR rep., they'll have all the answers. Good Luck and listen to your body Momma.

I have been working F/T up until Monday (teaching) plus when I come home I have a second job on the computer. Well, I guess I was overdoing it because Monday night I was spotting some. So I went to the hospital and they kept me overnight. They did not find the source of the blood. Right now I am at home on modified bedrest until my appt with the high risk doctor tomorrow. I was hoping to work until 30 weeks, but I will do whatever is best for the babies. I also need to call my disability insurance because I have a 30 day waiting period before I can start collecting. Well, I am using up 4 of my sick days now. I am not sure if I go back to work and have to go out again whether or not these days count towards the 30. I only have about 23 or 24 sick days left, so I will be cutting it close!

Anyway, the point is that it is much harder and tiring to carry two babies. When you feel you need to slow down, do it! Who cares what is done and not done? Who cares if your house is a mess? I know everyone cares if the babies are healthy!
