My girls will be switching soon to convertible car seats. Right now if we go someplace that has shopping carts in the parking lot, I put one in the back of the cart, the other goes in the seat part. What do you guys do with them when they are no longer in their infant car seats. Size-wise they could both sit in the seat part, but is the seat belt and leg holes big enough for two? My guess is I'll probably always have to use the stroller, but just wondering what everyone else does.

Today was actually our first trip in the store without their seats. But I had DH with me so we took two carts with one baby in the seat of each. I dont know if I will ever be able to shop without another adult again!! LOL Even if I take the stroller how on earth do you push it and the cart, do you drag the cart along behind you? IDK I am in the same boat here.

I would sling one and then put one in the cart.

I either put one in the bjorn and one in the cart, or put the cart cover in and sit them both in there together. They are a little scrunched, but still comfortable..

Same for me. Occasionally I will put them both in the back of the cart if I'm running in to the grocery store or Target real quick.

I'm glad someone posted this as I was wondering the same thing. We are about to move out of the infant seats and I have no idea how to manage bothboys, other than keeping them in the stroller and using that. They don't like the bjorn much, but I suppose I could try it.

We switched out of the infant carriers a couple weeks ago. If I'm out alone I use the double umbrella stroller. If I'm out with my husband or older daughters I either use the stroller and one of them uses a cart, or use 2 carts. I don't usually go out for "big" shopping alone, so I don't need a cart I just carry one of the small baskets if I'm by myself.

well i put my knew seats int eh car about 2 weeks ago. I took my stroller back and have yet to get a new one so... i put one in the umbrella and one in the bejorn but this was at the mall... not a store that i need to get groceries etc... i leave them at home with dad for that alot because it is easiest and too yucky to get them out anyway.

Some carts do fit two babies (they have enough leg holes and 2 belts). For those stores that don't have these carts, I either stick stuff in the basket under the stroller, or I put one baby in the cart and the other in our backpack carrier (depending on how big a shop I have to do).
    Good luck!

I have a front to back duoglider, so I can push the stroller and pull the cart behind me. Plus, the bonus is that during cold and flu season, you are less likely to get germs on your hands from pulling the front of the cart. No need to touch that icky handle!

We are still in infant carriers but I have a solution that would work without them too. I have those S shaped hooks that BRU sells (they are cheap, like $3) hooked onto the stroller, then I can take the stroller in and hook a shopping basket onto the hook. I am limited to what will fit in the basket, but it works really well, and I suppose you could hook 2 baskets on as the hooks are sold in packs of 2.

I try to avoid shopping with the twins. Sometimes I walk to get a few small things (advantage of city living ... supermarkets and Wholefoods within walking distance) or I put one in the cart, the other one in the hip carrier.

When mine could sit up real well, I'd put them both in the top 'bucket' of the shopping cart facing each other. It's probably not the safest thing to do, but I was always right there and it worked for me. This was when I was grocery shopping!

We're out shopping ALOT and 90% of the time I have my older daughter too so I had to come up with a good solution for just any shopping cart. I made a double strap that I loop through the bars on the back of the seat, both babies sit in the top part and DD#1 sits in the basket. Works well everywhere but places with little carts and Target (they have the grid instead of the bars so their legs don't fit through).

I HEART HEB because of their double carts but what I wish they really had everywhere is the toddler kiddie carts with a seat that the leg holes are not sealed on.

I am past this stage but I used to put both in the seat of the cart with their legs criss-crossed. Half way through I would move their legs so it wasn't one getting smashed. I have done this in the past month too.

This trick works for me when I don't have to get A LOT of stuff:
I put them in the stroller, then once I'm in the store, I get 3-5 plastic bags from the bagging area and loop the handles over the stroller handles (I have a side-by-side) and I fill those shopping bags and the bottom of the stroller as I shop.

Just make sure the bags are not so heavy that they will tip the stroller, and don't forget to take everything out of the bottom of the stroller to avoid accidental shop-lifting!

(My twins like to go out once a day anyway, so I can do 2-3 grocery trips a week if I really need to. Mostly, DH stays home with them when I do my big shopping trips).

I haven't tried this yet, but my sister would just take the stroller to the grocery store. She said you'd be amazed at what you really can put in them. The cashier was always amazed that she was still putting more on the belt...lol. You can use the bottom carrier, the top where the umbrella is, and have the babies hold some stuff. I don't know if I'll try it but you gotta do what you gotta do. Good luck!
