I have a couple of different pairs of shoes for my girls but they just kick them off. Should I take them to a children's shoe store and get them some real shoes? Just let them go barefoot all the time?

They are pulling up on everything and I take them to a playroom with other kids several times per week. What does everyone else do with their almost 10 month olds? Shoes or barefoot?

I am for NO SHOES!!!! they are more comfortable and they just look so CUTE with their little toes hanging out. Besides, mu ped. says that when children begin to try to start walking--bare feet are the best

Nikola likes to kick his off. Either on or off, the shoes seem to end up in their mouths.

My two didn't start wearing shoes until they started walking {at 14 months}. Before that they'd only wear them if we went somewhere special and were all dolled up or if we went out for a walk {and us holding them} but that didn't happen often because it would be a PITA. They don't need shoes at this age {unless they are walking} so I wouldn't worry about it yet. Don't waste your money on them yet, because when they do start to really walk they may have already outgrown them and they aren't cheap. :nea: My two didn't really like to wear them until they were able to walk, before that {on those few occasions that I did put them on} they'd kick them off or cry until I took them off.

Mine have had shoes on their feet maybe 1 or 2 hours of their lives. That is fine now since it is warm weather, but I am starting to consider what to do in a couple of months when it will be too chilly for them to go out with bare feet.

We don't wear them either. I will probably get them a good pair once they start walking.

My pedi suggested that the kids NOT wear shoes until they were walking. It is better for them and their feet to go barefoot. I got some of the little leather shoes (like Robeez) at BJ's for Liam and he kept those on all the time. They sell similar ones at Target that are cute. The only reason I had them for him was for the cool weather.

Barefoot at home, and when they started cruising, Robeez everywhere else.

Mine are barefoot most of the time. When they were first born and it was still cold out, we used Isabooties and the babies did not mind them. I have not tried "real" shoes yet.

I had my girls wear robeez a few times last winter just to help keep their feet warm if we were going out. Other than that they have worn shoes, like real shoes, ONCE. Just one more thing to worry about!

Mine are always barefoot. Sierra likes to suck on her toes :D

Mine kick them off too anyways, so what's the point.

We went barefoot until the summer after they turned one. Then they would wear shoes when they were crawling outside but that's about it until they started walking. For non-walkers and new walkers, it good for them to be able to feel the floor and develop those feet muscles. Shoes are only protection from the elements.
