I KNOW from past experience that there is a way to get those little toes to UNCURL to get shoes on, but I cannot for the LIFE of me remember what it is! I learned it way back when I was babysitting & now that I have my own toe curler, I'm stumped!

Does anyone know any tricks on how to get shoes on? Luckily my other little one lets me slip them right on, but I'm hoping someone will be able to help me on the other one...it can take a few MINUTES otherwise!!!

    TIA!

:8714bumper: I'd LOVE to know. I gave up. I'm about ready to start them in flip flops.

I am trying to remember what my mom told me. I usually will tickle the bottom of Liam's feet if he's curling the toes. It's either that or tickling the back of his knees that my mom told me to do.

I think rubbing the arch of their foot right before you put their foot in the shoe would help.

I would think rub your finger across the arch of their foot and that should make them extend their little toes.

The trick I read about and it has always worked for me is that you stroke the back of the calf while putting the shoe on their foot. I think it would be difficult to mess with the foot while putting the shoe on. ;) Hope you figure something out. It can be frustrating. :)

Thanks! I'll try those when we go out for our walk this afternoon. The new shoes I got actually aren't too hard to put on, but some of their other pairs are. They've pretty much lived in Robeez for that reason!

My DS just started doing that. He has always worn shoes to church but not the rest of the week. About a month ogo he started protestingand curling his toes. So sometimes we leave them off. He didn't the one time we put on his sandles so maybe that will work this summer. I will have to try to rub his calf and see if it works.
