shoe sizes

I'm looking for shoes for the girls, but what I'm looking at only comes in Youth sizes (at least that's what's left) How do the youth sizes compare to toddler sizes?

Like, the girls currently wear a size 6 toddler shoe. Would that be the same as size 5/6 youth??

I think (though I may be wrong) youth size 1 is what comes after toddler size 12 (or something like that). So youth 5/6 would be much bigger than toddler 5/6.

I feel your pain though -- I keep finding these great shoes when I search on "toddler shoes," only to find that a lot of them are not toddler sizes at all.

 

I think you are right about that.

 

I'm certain that Youth sizes come after Toddler because I just ordered shoes from LL Bean for the girls and they spell out exactly how big every size is and what order they come in. It looked like this:

Toddler 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, Youth 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.

So sadly, Youth 5 is a lot bigger than Toddler 5.

 

Yep, youth size is the next sizes up from Toddler. My twins are 4 and are in size 9 and 10 Toddler and my almost 7 yr. old is in a 13 (not even sure if that's technically youth yet). There's a big difference in the two sizes.

 

Well allrighty then! LOL That brings me to an entirely NEW question: WHERE do you find toddler size 8-13?!?! I can safely say I have NEVER seen anything above a 7 before I started seeing youth sizes...

 

They're usually right in order if you go to places like Payless, Target, Walmart, etc. I think if you go to places like a Sketchers store or Stride right you can ask for the size. I usually have mine measured when I go to those stores so they know which size to bring out.
