So, way back when, when i was pregnant with the boys, they had to use that "shocker" noise maker thing on Landon to see how his heart would do with stress...they only used it on him and they only used it once but he jumped a mile high and I jokingly told the nurse that if he had issues later on, i would blame them on her b/c she used that. So, now almost 10 months after they're born, Landon is affraid of any loud noise. He cant handle runnign water, the sweeper, the dustbuster or anythign "loud". This includes toys that play music or talk... So my question is: If you had to have this done to one of both of your twins or even a child .... have you noticed that they are affraid of loud things? could this be why he's affraid of loud noises? What have your experiences been with this? Anyone ever thought about that before? Maybe i just have a sensitive child... I would enjoy any input anyone has.

I had NST's twice a week and they had to use the "shocker" to get one or the other at times going with the heart rates. I have never found mine scared of loud noises. They love the vacuum, running water at bath time, very noisy toys. So, I have not found any correlation with that. Sorry that your little one is nervous with noises though.

Ditto. :good: My dd was the one who was getting shocked at the NST's and she gets startled if it's an extremely loud noise, but nothing out of the ordinary. I hope your little man grows out of the nervousness soon!

Never experienced the shocker but I did have one baby who was more sensitive to loud noises than the other. She has pretty much grown out of it unless it is a loud voice (and I think that might just be because she is reacting to the anger not the voice), she even does great at the race track which is really loud. I hope the sensitivity passes for you too!

Emma is still afraid of loud noises and I never had a NST with her and only 2 ultrasounds.

I never had the shocker thing done, but my girls start freaking out at certain loud noises... They start to cry when anyone laughs too loud or someone coughs while holding them.. But they're absolutely fine with the vacuum cleaner and loud toys... Silly babies! Sorry I'm not much help!

My son is scared of loud noises and I never got far enough to have an NST with him. The girls though I had NSTs from 24 weeks on twice a week and then 3 times a week at 27 weeks til delivery. They used that thing, especially with Madison alot and shes not scared of anything

They never had to use the shocker (actually I've never heard of it) at any of my NST's and both mine have had phases where loud noises scare them.
