Emma is growing like a weed!! Her 4T pants/shirts for fall/winter are shrinking daily on her. She is so stinkin tall!! I have a lot of 4T for the summer and as long as the shirts are long they will be fine.

I have to say that I am sooooo bummed she is growing out of the baby/toddler sizes. I'm not ready to buy "children's" clothes for her!!

But where do I go after that? I have seen some things in 5T but not many places offer 5T. Would I go to a 4? The length on a straight 4 doesn't look different than a regular 4, so maybe a size 5?? I can't imagine my 4 year old in a size 5!!

Yep, you can go to a 4/5 next if you don't see any 5T's. My oldest DD was always really tall and was in a size or two ahead of her "age", so at 4, she was in a 5 or 6x. Once they get past 6x, they stay in that for a lot longer. She's been in 7/8 last year and this year and I had friends tell me once she got past 6x, she'd stay in clothes longer and they were right. My girls also love dresses which helps b/c you can get those longer. My younger DD is 4 (almost 4.5) and is fitting into 4T/4 pants and 5T/5 tops, but a 5 or 6 dress. It is sad when they get out of that "baby/toddler" clothing. :( You can't always shop at the same stores, you pay more and sometimes things just aren't as cute....you get into "hoochie" clothing in those sizes which I hate seeing on a little girl.

You might try a 5 slim if she real lean. I have to get Jessy a slim. Adjustable waist pants always fit better too

Sorry, that should say "4T". :good:

YES Melissa!!! I was shocked over some of the styles they had in size 4 and 5!! I don't want my little girl dressing like she is ready to go clubbing!! :(

Thank you, but we need it just for length. She's the stockier twin for sure, so that's not a problem. :D

Michelle - I'd try Children's Place...Abby's getting taller (24 mos doesn't fit her anymore in the length) but 3T is too big in the waist because she's out of diapers...I've found that they're straight size 4 fits her perfectly! It is a bit big in the waist but not nearly as big as 3T (amazingly enough)...

yes if it wasn't for the fact she was getting taller my peanut could still fit into 24 mo pants...

I'll have to second the Children's Place suggestion! I actually asked the manager of our's if they knew their clothes ran a size larger than everywhere else. She said Yes! LOL You may want to try their clothes. I don't have any girls, but they are great for my boys.

We went from a 4T to a 5 to a 6 almost overnight! Sniff, sniff. They grow up too fast, huh?! I was so sad when they grew out of the toddler section. But what got me more than anything, is that the price of clothes almost doubled!!! :faint:

Okay that is SO weird. I think their shirts run smaller than some other brands I've bought. :pardon: They barely cover my girls' bellies whereas other brands are slightly longer (Carter's for one).

DOUBLED?? UGH!! :grr: So where do you get hers? Good to know mine's not the only one. We went from 2T to 3T in just a few months and then jumped to 4T about 6 months later. This is nuts! I guess the good thing is that we have seasons up here so I need to buy more clothes anyway.

I have just started buying stuff for Nolan in the regular sizes, they seem to be a little bit longer. Meghan on the other hand, still fits in a size 3T and this summer could probably still wear some of her 2T shorts.

I can't believe how big Emma is getting!!

I am one that also thinks Children's Place runs smaller for my girls and they have never been able to wear their pants. Lauren's booty and thighs have always been a little too thick for them.

I know with Gymboree, the 3T and 3 length isn't any different, but the waist and bottom area is. The sales lady said they still account for some baby belly and diapers in the T sizes. Does that make sense? I have seen some places have 5T. That might help is she still has a little chubby belly like my Lauren.

I can't believe you are buying girl's clothes  and not baby girl anymore

I'm going through that transition with moving sizes up too. My daughter has been wearing a 4T but she is movoing into youth size 4 or the XS (4-5). Yes, I agree I have seen too many clubbing outfit too. What I am going to miss the most is 'prices' has gone a few dollars more when you buy 'youth or XS'. I am going to miss the toddlers, $3.99 sales prices!

I would try a 5 after 4T. But like Melissa said some of the stuff just looks so old in those sizes, I am so mad they do that to kids' clothing. Wow, I can't believe Emma is growing out of her 4T's. :faint:

I totally know about kids being too tall for clothing. Both of my girls are 43 inches but about 8 pounds difference in weight. Sydney wore a 2/3 outfit for the disney store while we were on vacation. It fit her perfect since it was shorts. But she has 4 and 5 skirts from children's place that are way to short on her.

I find this sizing the worst to find stuff in. Most stores have the 4T then seem to jump to 6.

I love Children's place stuff because it is bigger and smaller.

    Oxymoron? No, contradictory? Kinda. :)

Their clothes are more slim but longer than some of the other brands of clothes.

Michelle, I did that too with Renay, although she was a slim one. I just went directly to the regular size 5 from a 4T b/c she was so tall. Def. Children's place for their bigger sizes. GL trying to keep them from looking too hoochie. That is definitely a concern when you are buying the bigger sizes. Even with Renay, I have to look at it and wonder if I want my 10 year old wearing those things! I did find something nice at Target this fall, though. They had some of the same tops and pants that the toddler clothes had. Too bad she didn't want to match her sisters though! 's to you...it's so sad when they grow up!
