I was out in my backyard with the girls. Dani started to cry that sydney hurt her foot. Turns out she rolled over it with a toy. I hear Sydney open the door to let Cloe (our dog) back in the house. I then realize that Sydney is no longer in the yard with us. I look and she is sitting at the kitchen table eating a bagel. I try the door and she locked it. I knock for her and she looks at me and grins and keeps on eating her bagel.

Dani and I had to go around to the garage and use the keypad for the garage door to get in the house.

    Is it bedtime yet?

Oh goodness!! Glad you were able to get in!

We were house sitting one time and I was loading up the car (it was the morning of the day they were coming home). I had one child with me and the other child was at the door. We took out a load of stuff and then I went to get back in and the door was closed and locked. I had no keys, no cell phone, I knew there was no way to break into the house (part reason I was staying there was because they had recently been robbed and they had since had their house totally protected, the other part was the dog). I had no idea what I was going to do! I finally calmed down enough to coax my child on the inside to turn the lock, the lock was very hard and there was alot of "I can't, I can't do it" which was majorly stressful but eventually the lock turned and we were in. Ughh it was sooo horrible!!!!!!!!!

 Clayton has locked me out of the van before (on a VERY cold day). He luckily has opened it up for me too! Wait until they realize what they did and not let me in next time! :shok:

A not so funny story at the time.. my mom was taking care of her granddaughter (my niece) at my brother's place and she walked outside to move her car and left Emma in the swing to do this. She didn't realize that the door was locked but it could be opened from the inside without knowing. She didn't have a phone and couldn't get back into the house. SHe kept an eye on the baby from the window after calling me to get my brother's phone number. He was only 10 minutes away luckily!

I had them do that to me once - we were racing out the door for an art class and they locked me out!! I was NOT a happy camper, but Ali eventually let me back in, by SHEER DUMB LUCK!!! (They were 2 ish at the time!)

I'm glad she let you back in!! PHEW!!!!

My DD locked the door, but we were ALL outside!!! We had to call all the relatives to see if anyone happened to have a spare key. Luckily, my MIL had one from a long time ago. She had to make a special trip to our house to let us in. Now, when we go out, I always leave more than one door unlocked, take my keys with me, and we've given keys to several relatives, just in case.

    She smiled. LOL, how funny.

Ainsley once locked us out on accident. Luckily, DH was in the office so Sierra and I went around the house and got his attention at the window. Poor Ainsley was in hysterics by the time we got back to the front door because she thought Sierra and I had left her.

I got locked out one time last year. I was taking the trash out to the curb and forgot to turn the lock on the door. Nolan walked up and shut the door. So glad we had a secret key.

I think it's so funny that she was eating and watching you!

At least you were able to get back in!!!! LOL!!! What little attitudes they can have huh?

This happened to me last summer with the girls. I had just gotten home from picking them up and Morgan took my keys and put them on the front table...they wanted to play, so we went back outside and somehow the door ended up locked and she shut it behind her. I didn't realize until it was time to go in and make dinner. We were locked out completely. the front door was dead-bolted, the garage door is the one she locked and the back sliding door we always keep locked. I was panicing b/c DH went to a hockey game that night and didn't have his phone one. Went to theeneighbors in tears that I was locked out with 2 kids...her DH was able to jimmy the lock with a credit card and get us back in (safe to know anyone can get in my house with a credit card...lol)....so that wa sa relief! We now have a key hidden out bakc!
