My girls have decided it is so much fun to take their pants off and diaper and run around the house. The problem is Emily did it twice last night and her bed was soaked.

I use the 2 piece pjs right now. I remember seeing a while ago, pjs that are two piece but snap together. I really don't like using the feet pjs (they are not too thrilled with those).

Does anyone know where I can find these pjs. Have you had the same problem and what did you do.

    Thank you for your help

    Two words - duct tape.
I'm actually serious. After having the same problem I just put one strip of duct tape aroudn the diaper like a belt and cut it off at the next change.

Or, if you use those PJ's you are looking for, I would safety pin the PJ's closed and hope she cant open safety pins. I think I have seen them at Walmart or Kohls?

Sophie is doing the same thing. I went in one night and she had taken her jammie bottoms and nappy off and was lying with her bum in the air!! We thought we had it cracked when one put on the babygrows (the ones with poppers at the bottom) but she has managed to get them off too!!! The only thing that works now is is a babygrow with a zip! She thinks it is funny to do this and it is quite cute but very annoying! x

Oh Gracyn has started doing this also. Like someone said it was kinda cute at first but after the poopy diaper in the bed uh not so cute. I just have to make sure that I put her in the pjs that zip all the way down but they do have the feet in them.

    Good Luck :D

I was laughing as I was reading this. My ds does this as well and not to sound like white trash but we use duct tape at night and never had a problem again.

Duct Tape. They can take off their pants, they can pull down a zipper, undo snaps, and they can even open a strong safety pin if they are so inclined. We used Duct tape, and made sure the ends were on the backside so there was nothing for them to pick at. After a while they forgot about it and we stopped with the duct tape. Now, as long as they are covered, they don't try to undo the diaper, even in 2 piece PJs. If they are having trouble sleeping, bored, or hot, they will still, but only once in a while. Good luck.

My boys have been doing this for about a month now. I, too, thought is was funny the first time. To walk in and find these little naked boys gleefully jumping in their cribs but after many, many cleanups it isn't funny. I pin their sleepers closed under the flap at night but have never figured out what to do at naps other than put their sleepers back on. I am excited to hear about the duct tape. You can bet I will be going shopping today!!!!!! Thanks for the idea. Hope it works for me. ~Mary~

My oldest was a houdini. Eventually, we had to duct tape the diaper (to keep it on if all else failed), put his one-piece zippered sleeper on backwards, put duct tape around his waist on the outside of that (or else he would wiggle out, get it unzippered, etc) with the ends around his back & overlapping (sticks better to itself than to fleece! taht way he couldn't work his finger underneath it and pull it off), unscrew the lightbulbs (he was in a toddler bed and was forever turning the lights on) and put two gates (one on top of the otehr) int he doorway to keep him in (he would use ANYTHING, including his blankets, to pile up in front of one gate to climb over). Oh, and the gates had to be on the inside of the jam, or else he'd kick them out. It was like a toddler jail cell :( - but it was the only way to know that he was safely in his room, in the dark, wearing his clothes

My kids were doing that a few months ago when I still had them sleeping in long sleeved onesies (they wore sleepsacks over them). They would take off their poopy diapers during naps and throw them around them room laughing like banshees! I ended up putting the sleepsacks on them backwards and that did the trick. Now, they are in two piece pajamas but still have the sleepsacks on backwards. My crafty daughter can still get the sleepsack off if it's on backwards, but they no longer try and get the diaper off.

Have you tried onesies yet? That the easiest thing, at least until they learn to get those off. You can also buy diaper pins to pin the tops and bottoms of the pajamas together. What worked for us was putting on the footed sleepers inside out. The girls couldn't get the zipper down if it was on the inside. If you have any footed sleepers already you can always cut off the feet since your kids dont' like them. Lastly, you can also try putting the diaper on backwards to see if that slows her down. Those are some of the simplest solutions but they won't work for kids who are really, really determined. :)

I know its not funny but I laughed out loud at this one....

Mine are true stripteasers. I usually just put them in the footed pjs and call it a night. They can get out of any pjs anyway so I have just made the adjustment to having clean sheets in the bedroom and new diapers and pjs under the bed. Once they wake up wet once or twice the novelty wears off. It sucks but that is what babies do. Now that they are starting to understand what the potty is for they are nakefying at any opportunity...

We do one piece pajamas, backwards, with the feet cut off. I bought secondhand pajamas since I was cutting them up.

I'm a parent of 3 kids. My twins would take off their diapers and play with their poop. I tried all kinds of ways to stop the behavior but it didn't work. A friend told me about a garment that they could not get out of. In desperation I gave it a try and IT WORKED! You may want to try it. It's called the little keeper sleeper. You can get it from their website www.littlekeepersleeper.com. Hopefully it will work for you.

backwards pjs and/or sleepsacks. i couldn't find footless pj's, so I cut the feet off some inexpensive ones from children's place. we wore them backwards for months before they figured out how to get them off.

i used the zip up footed pj's inside out and the one with the snap at the top and than i put a t shirt on top. this is the ONLY thing that kept my DS dressed, we are still doing it now. in the summer i just cut off the arm and legs of the pj's. i hate to do it but it was the only way for us. the snap together jammies were no match for my DS
    Good Luck!!

Get the Little Keeper Sleeper. NO safety pins, duct tape or putting sleepers on backwards. Don't put your child in a sleeper that doesn't fit correctly, especially around their neck. This company created the perfect sleeper that all parents of toddlers should have. See for yourself at http://www.littlekeepersleeper.com

My DS was the master of this. We bought Gerber pajamas that had no feet. They were one piece, and zipped up the whole way. Much like the ones in the link from the pp. They however were only $6 a pair and did the same thing as the ones in the picture. Come summer...I will just have to cut off the arms, have MIL hem them, and pull up the pant legs. Maybe I will try the duck tape and see if it works.

Putting the unfooted Pjs on backwards worked for us. Only one time it failed...I went in and DS had his jammies off. I knew there was no way he could get out of them....well yes there was! He had a willing sister to "unzip" him from behind. So he go out of his jammies, and DD got in trouble for unzipping him. It was kinda cute how they were so resourceful! Oh the joys of being a twin mommy!

Duct tape here too ... I'm personally not as considered if they get out of their pjs ... for mine, it's just in the morning ... they go to bed fine, but when they wake up, Hailey will strip down and used to take off her diaper and throw it out of the crib. So now we wrap duct tape around the diaper itself ... so even if she undresses, she can't get her diaper off.

I learned that tip about the duct tape here on TS and am very grateful! My kids now call the duct tape "diaper tape" and actually ask for it! kooky kids!

Are you all serious? At what age are we talking about when this might happen? And how long the phase last? My twins just turned 2.5 years old. I saw the website 'The Little Keeper' but they are long sleeves. We live in Midwest with warmer weather will be here soon.

Thanks for the all of the advice! Maybe I should try the onesies and duct tape.

My DD started doing this about a month ago! I woke up to find her with poo and pee all over her crib and herself. I was *not* going to risk it happening again, so what I did was cut the feet of some cotton footie jammies off and I put them on her backwards. She (knock wood) has yet to figure out how to contort herself out of them since the zipper is in the back. I put her in this same pair of jammies (we call it her "special outfit" lol) for nap time, too. So far so good!
