Mikayla had a fever for 3 days this week. By the time we finally got her to the doctor (because of the snow/ice) she had broken out in a rash all over her torso and back. The dr. said roseola, and there is nothing to give her!

I have no idea where she got it. Michael hasn't come down with it yet....yet! Mikayla with roseola

Poor thing. I know nothing about roseola. I hope it passes quickly and doesn't cause too much discomfort.

Grace had roseola and Jonathan never got it. It looks like it should hurt or itch but Grace was ok with it. I think I did give her some benedryl though. It took a long time for it to disappear though. I hope Mikayla's goes away quick and no one else gets it!

Blake has a rash on his back right now as well. I am treating it with the Aveeno Cortisone cream. For Blake- today has been 1 week and it doesn't look any better or worse than last Monday!

I hope she gets better soon.

Eli had it a few weeks ago. Honestly the Fever was the worst part. The rash came about 24hrs after the fever finally broke and it didn't bother him at all. I don't think the rash hurts, just looks bad. Eli's rash got some better within 24 hrs and completely gone within 48hrs.

Poor thing! The good thing is I have heard that Roseola rashes do not itch, they just look bad.

The rash from roseola should not bother them at all. Josh had it twice with the very high fevers and seizures. But once the fever broke, the rash appeared and it bothered ME more than him. It should go away in a few days. If it does not and it bothers her it might not be Roseola.

It's not common that the rash will cause any discomfort. It's more unsightly than anything. And isn't contagious. Once the fever has broke, the child isn't contagious any longer. The rash typically begins to show only after a period of high fever. Once the rash appears, the child is no longer contagious.
