Reagan had a touch of the flu this weekend...puked one time and 2 diarhea diapers. I was waiting for Morgan to get it...but instead, she woke up with a low grade temp of 99 at 8 am this morning. She was fine after some Motrin...put her down around 1 for her nap (after 1/2 dose of Tylenol so she could get a good nap) and heard her in there moaning and groaning and temp was back up to 99.5 (that was after the tylenol). So, I gave her the other 1/2 dose of it and she's not alseep.

I can't figure it out. With her history, I would say ear infection. However, she normally doesn't get fevers with them. And, she has NOTHING else...no runny nose, no cough, no cold, no NOTHING!

What gives? Could it be an ear infection? I know they can come on very quick...I'm thinking that's what it might be. If so, first I'll call the pedi and then the ENT to schedule tubes. UGH!

I guess if she still has a bit of a fever tomorrow I'll call and schedule her an apt. to be checked out with her history of ear infections.

Anyone else have these random illnesses going around right now?

I wouldn't worry if she has just a low grade fever. Maybe, give it another day and see where it goes....

I had Martin have a few days of low grade fever once and that's all it ever was, but he doesn't have the ear infection history!! I hope it's nothing! :hug99:

Bea's ear infection was a fever with no other symptoms, except she was lethargic and a bit grouchy. Her fever was high though, up around 102. I was so surprised that she had one as she hadn't had a cold or anything like that. Hope she feels better soons!

We have the same thing here! Sam woke up from nap yesterday with a fever - no other obvious symptoms. He was pretty miserable, so I gave him Motrin. Last night he moaned and groaned for a while before falling asleep. Today he feels a little warm, but is acting much better. Still no other symptoms except his poo is a little soft.

Coleman had this same thing once about a year ago - just a fever with maybe 1 runny diaper and no other symptoms.

It's funny - as adults, we are used to a fever developing into some horrible virus. But it seems to me that people say, "too bad babies don't come with an instruction manual"? Well someone should write one and put that in there :p

I wouldnt worry with that low a fever. I dont consider a fever until over 100. Give it a few days and see what happens. I hope they both are on the mend!

We got the fever gunk here to. Dylan has a fever tonight. Nothing else just fever. He has been over the other virus for over a week and a half now. The only other thing is might be is teething but I dont see any coming in.

Hopefully better tomorrow. Hope everyone feels better after a good nights sleep.

You've always been very good at diagnosing the ear infections so if you're unsure I'd probably wait it out a day or so. Most docs don't even consider it a fever until over 100.4. My first thought was teething. Is she maybe working on the two year molars? We've also had our share of strange viruses that seem to only be a fever and cranky for a day or so and then nothing. Hopefully she wakes up happy and normal for you today!

I was going to guess teething too. My Mitchell has had a low grade fever and just a little bit of fussiness and he is def cutting some teeth!

    Hope she is better!!

With that low of a fever, I really wouldn't worry, even if it persists for a few days. That's what my doctor has always told me -- as long as the fever can ben kept down between 99-101 with Tylenol/Motrin, then it's just doing its job to ward off whatever infection is causing it. It's only when it stays up above 102 for over a day and you can't bring it down that you need to worry.

Of course, we don't have the ear infection history yours do, so you should of course keep that in mind, but I'd still say you probably don't need to worry.
