She fell at the sitter's house

Hi everyone, Ana fell head first into a wicker basket yesterday at the sitter's house. She has a little 'rug burn' underneath her chin and a scratch on her cheek (thank god it missed her eye!). I'm such a paranoid momma... I called the pedi this morning to see if I can put anything on it to prevent scaring. Its not deep, but it is red. Also the burn on her chin is red too. Poor pumpkin.

She's been falling a lot lately because she just moves too quickly and her feet can't keep up! She bit her tongue 3 times over the weekend while falling and the blood freaked me out (I thought it was coming from her gums and her teeth were loose- thank god it was 'just' her tongue).

We'll see what the doctor says about putting anything on the scratch and burn. I just washed it with water last night and skipped the first aid cream. It doesn't seem to be bothering her this morning, but I'm still a worried first time momma. Our sitter felt awful, but really s**t happens. She's fallen standing RIGHT next to me. Guess she'll learn to be careful when running toward a wicker basket now.

Aquaphor!! A dermatologist recommended it to us when one of my children had facial surgery at a very young age. I swear by it! Even mommy can't see the spot anymore and you know if mommy vision can't see it then that is pretty good!

My daughter had a rug burn on her nose TWICE because her feet was moving faster than her brain was! Poor girl! It healed. I hope she is alright! There was nothing really I could do. It was red for awhile and then it scabbed over.

Thanks for the tip! I actually have aquaphor in the house so I'll put some on her.

Poor baby! I hate it when that happens :( She'll probably heal very quickly, and you won't even know it was there! I'm always paranoid about their eyes too. (And the scrapes getting infected  )

In the pictures from the girls first birthday party, Ellie's easy to pick out because she's got a nasty gash on her cheek from falling into the corner of the kitchen cabinets. I think anything like aquaphor or A&D will keep it soft and less likely to leave a lasting mark.

My girls still take diggers all the time, Searra's got a nice scrape on her temple right now and both of them have so many bruises on their legs it's not funny!

Poor baby :( I've always used the Mederma for kids when I'm worried about scarring!

That's too bad. Unfortunately they do fall at lot! Amy and Sarah almost always have some kind of bump or bruise or scratch or scrape -- usually on their legs, but on their faces too. FWIW, nothing has scarred yet. I may try the Aquaphor on Amy's eye though -- she fell into the train table a few months ago and I can still see the red mark, though it's very faint.
