i was always conscious about being shaved before i got pregnant, and i continued to try for a while, but it got to where i can't even reach where i want to shave, much less actually see it. i have tried many different positions to try to do so, but many require my being on the floor or in the tub where i could not easily get back up anymore. <_<

So im just curious, for those of you who shaved everywhere before you got pregnant, do you still do so? And if so, have you found a way that works effectively still? i swear i cant stand this and have thought about going in and getting waxed.

Sorry to say, I'm going a little hairy these days... well I can still reach my armpits, so those still get shaved... but otherwise...

I shaved by myself in the tub very ackwardly up until about 33 weeks. AFter that my weekly shaving sessions had to be done by dh. I did take a nightly bath.. but with shaving it was best done standing up towards the end.

I let mine go for a few weeks and then I jokingly asked DH if he would do it for me. He said he was afraid he would cut me but got some Nair and did it for me!!!! I was mostly wearing yoga pants while on bed rest, but I started just wearing night dresses now, cuz my legs look so nice now!!!

I shave my legs and armpits, but other places...well, let's just say that it goes a bit neglected...I am thinking about getting waxed as deliver nears...I never wanted to go for the 1970's look!

Is waxing safe during pregnancy? I thought I had read a post about needing to avoid while pregnant? I sure hope it is because I might be going that route here in a few months.

Don't do the heavy parts and won't ask SO to help. Will ask him to use a trimmer for me but I am not worried about it otherwise. I was looking closely at my ankles and noticed my hairy legs so I took care of that but I am thinking that I will start the nair/neet on my legs

I had to stop shaving my legs once I was put on strict hospital bedrest at 24 weeks. My DH is awesome though and offered to shave my legs for me! (he also gave me daily bed baths, and washed my hair in the bed as well!)

I was able to shave my legs until I delivered. At the end I would just sit in a full bathtub and lift my leg up on the edge to shave it. I had my DH tend to other areas

This is the cutest question i've read so far!!! I'm a bit more liberal hippie earth momma and can let it go. My husband doesn't even comment anymore. I never used to be this way until living for many years in northern california going to Humboldt State University and then way up in the mountains in a small town where armpit hair was an everyday thing. then eventually it was less striking.

However with my son I do remember making an extra effort to shave the days just before delivery- not sure why. It's dawning on me again that twins will mean quite a DIFFERENT DOWNWARDLY Perspective. I had a best friend paint my toenails the night before I delivered, I bet she would of shaved my legs too.
My husband would of done just fine too.

I've been thinking a lot about this lately! haha. It's difficult to get underwear on! i just told my mother in law that I never want to be overweight! It must be hard to be out of breath all the time. Now i understand why so many people say its a million times easier to do everyday tasks when they've lost weight.

I'm still trying hard to shave my legs as best as I can. I just contract so much and want to go lay down! As for other parts...i can't see anything anymore, and try to blindly do it...and that ends up really sucking. A long time ago, I asked my sis who works at an OB office if most women are shaven or unshaven...and she said the majority were. But I wonder if that majority didn't include a lot of pregnant women.

Thank God I'm not the only one who thought of this!! How funny! I do my legs every one or two weeks. I probably shouldn't do it that often since i'm on strict bedrest inpatient, but i've go to feel normal and figure that since i don't wash my hair every day it's okay. I usually hurry and only really concentrate on the bottom part of my legs. I'm glad my leg hair is blond and doesn't grow too fast on my thighs. I HAVE to do my armpits - i just can't handle hair there - just a personal preference. as for everything else - i go blind only because i can't stand the itching and my husband is afrraid to do it. I can't imagine what it looks like down there!! I have to do all my shaving and bathing standing up - doctor's rules, but i think it's easier anyway so no complaints here.

what about cutting your toenails??? :) Why is it personal hygeine is so difficult during pregnancy? I guess we should all be thrilled that we can at least brush our teeth. If i didn't have to lay down all the time, i would just go get a pedicure, but I can't do that. I'm scared for a non-professional to do it - especially my husband. I love him so much, but I've seen how he does the kids and I don't want to go through that!! I always feel so bad when he cuts theirs - now that the big kids are older he threatens to do it if they don't take care of it themselves. That really gets them after it. :)

I shave my legs occasionally. Like when my shower happens I will shave since I'm wearing a dress. And I will shave my armpits. But other places, lets just say I'm bringing the 70's back. LOL. I try to trim, but since I can't see anymore I can only do the best by touch. LMAO.

i gave up pretty early on in my pregnancy - it was something i did mostly for DH anyway & let's just say that intimate relations went the way of the dodo pretty quick (he's such a patient man!) and since it never really bothered me, i just stopped cold turkey. i kept at my legs for a while but gave up on that too once i was on bedrest. it's nice to be back in my old routine now though.

This is a great post! I have given up on shaving all together. I'm on bedrest and can not stand for long periods. DH said he would do it for me if I want but I think he's scared too.
