    Hi Everyone!

I am currently 30 weeks and am having tearing type pain in my lower abdomen (pubic area) for about 1 week now. It gets really bad when I walk or turn over while laying down. I never had this with my son and have been assuming it is just the discomfort that comes with twins, but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Baby B was breach, so I am thinking that he may have turned and it is the pressure of two heads low down in that area??? But it is so painful that DH has had to take over all the daily activities of our very active toddler!

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Dan.

I have had the same pain since about 26 weeks - both babies are head down and Baby A is very low down in my pelvis. It is bad when I roll over in bed as well as when I first start walking after getting up from a seated position. The best thing to do for it is get as much lying down time as possible. I have been on modified bedrest since 28 weeks and I have noticed it's better when I am vigilant about staying horizontal. I also highly recommend a good quality pregnancy pillow which I have found helps incredibly. Good luck!!

Ah.... It sounds like we are going through the same thing then!

Thanks for the info, it makes me feel a lot better.

I have a similar thing; when I walk, get up from sitting for a long time or twist my leg strangely I get the pain right in the groin / public area. I was at the doctor for it last week because I had never felt pain like it before and she said it was a ligament and just to take it easy. She also told me it was about time I "acted pregnant with twins" and took it a bit easier!!
My baby A is very low, so low we could see her head on the internal ultrasound I had to measure my cervix. It was literally "there's your cervix, and there's a head"! I think she's the culprit for this pain!!

I also have what sounds like the same pains. Sometimes if I have to walk when I have this pain I have to hold the bottom of my stomach with my hands.

I'm 26 weeks & I'm getting a lot of pressure under the bump when I turn over in bed and when I walk - yes I also sometime hold myself "up" when I walk. but I'm not getting the tearing feeling - just pressure. baby A is quite low and I often feel a body part very close to my pubic bone.
I was told the pressure is perfectly normal with twins but would ask your midwife / ob about the tearing feeling next time you visit just to be on the safe side
    good luck

This actually sounds like a contraction. I had the same thing - and had it at my high risk Dr office right when he was doing a sonogram - and he confirmed that it's a contraction. So, that is prob what you are feeling.

I started to have pelvic pain when i was about 20 weeks. The pain was so bad that i could bearly walk and to turn over in the bed was painfull too. I made a appt and my doctor told me it was SPD. Basicly what it is is your pelvic bone spreading to get ready for the birth of the babies. I stoped having the pain after a while however i am now 35 weeks and the pain has returned oh yeah, NOTTT!! :grr:
