    Hi Ladies,

I've been shopping around for new bedding for the twins' room. We have 2 twins mattress and want to get myself start ahead. Whatever happened to PBK that had unisex bedding? Does anyone know where I could buy unisex bedding for my daughter/son's room? We are going to use the spare bedroom as a playroom along with a guest twin bed in there for my FIL. I went to Target, Walmart, check online w/JcPennys, and etc.

I still have a bit of time before they get into the big bed. They still haven't learn how to climb out of the crib yet. I would LOVE to have them out of their crib for good and learn to sleep in big bed. I know nap will be difficult for a while but I'm willing to challenge those days.

    Any word of advice?

    Thanks,
    D, w/Rianna and Justin (21 mos)

i've been looking for coordinating bedding for my b/g twins and am having a hard time finding anything i like. what i have found (at serena and lily) is EXPENSIVE. sigh. i might try IKEA. PBK has nothing that even remotely goes together for a b/g room. hopefully someone has an idea for us both!

I am having the same dilemma here, and I think I am going to make something instead of buying it! I am thinking of doing a ladybug/bug theme, or ladybug/frog theme.

The plan is to buy white sheets, and find some ladybug fabric to accent the top of the sheets and pillowcases with for Emma's bed. And instead of a quilt, I am just going to find either a red/white check fleece blanket, or solid red blanket. I might make some accent pillows to match.

Jake's sheets will be the same, only with either green bugs or frogs(maybe turtles?) as the accent fabric on his sheets. Matching fleece blanket and throw pillows.

I plan to paint the room light lime green, and I think I will do the valance in green/white and red/white check. Maybe do some stamping?

Of course, this is just the 'plan' so it is subject to change! I think it will be cute though!

Have you tried the company store online or catalog? company kids has lots of bedding, and some of it is plain and in many colors so it could be gender neutral. they also have tons of gender specific themes, but you can ignore that part if you want.

We have "neutral" PBK bedding called A to Z. It has each letter of the alphabet and a picture for each letter. It's really cute and mostly primary colors. Have you tried Land of Nod or Company Kids?

You would usually see unisex for crib bedding with those catalogs. How I wish those crib bedding comes in 'twin/toddler' bedding size. PBK used to carry unisex bedding either in polka dots or stripes when I saw them about year ago. We were not ready to purchase at that time. I check all of the latest catalog and nothing came up.

An idea -- I could get a fitted sheet/flat sheets in (solid color). I would also look for a pillow sham with name (initial). The only thing I need to do is try to find a quilt bedding / plain twin comforter. Otherwise maybe I can find a fitted/sheet in theme similarity? This is the only thing I can think of with mix n' match.

If anyone else can share an idea that would be great!

I'm struggling with the same thing right now. I am either just going to forget trying to coordinate & give them each one half of the room in their own personal "theme" and not worry about how it looks together or I found this that I think could work for both but I can't make up my mind if it's what I want.... :pardon:

ETA - I just found this one that I really like. Do you guys think it would work for a boy or a girl??

Tina - I LOVE those sets, but honestly I think they are both kinda girly. Maybe not so much the blue star one, but defininetly the yellos polka dot one. But that's just me...they are both super cute!!!

I ended up getting the Kasey Primary from PBK. It is sold as boy's bedding, but I think it can go either way. I love bright primary colors. I think I will do Emily's sheets/pillows in red gingham with maybe lady bug accents and Sam's with royal blue pillows/sheets with blue cars. I found the curest lady bug rug and a blue beetle car rug (both bugs, get it?). So everything would coordinate without being the same.

    Tina,

I think it is too bold for my taste and it does look a bit more girly.

    Catie,

I swear I saw 2 of those bedding in unisex color through PBK. I think it is a great start from what you're telling us!

    Keep brining in ideas!

If DH and I had B/G twins we wanted to do a Raggedy Ann & Andy room
    http://www.tadbits.com/index.cfm/fa/catego...parentcat/23666

We're doing that for the twins' 2nd birthday coming up in the Fall. A nice idea but I just think it too much of a theme for a bedroom for me. I just want keep it more neutral. I would have probably done that if they were still baby! :)

    and

    http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_0...sName=Kids+Room
or these 2 if you want the main color the same but it to be gender specific.

    http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_0...sName=Kids+Room

    and

    http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_0...sName=Kids+Room
or if you want to keep it the same something like this.

    http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_0...sName=Kids+Room

    Tammi,

Wow! I like the first one with pink/blue to keep the room more neutral. I'll have to check with my husband on this one too! :)

    how about these from target?

    this and this

or if you don't find it too boyish

    http://www.target.com/Olive-Kids-Ride-Bedd...;rh=&page=5 and http://www.target.com/Eric-Carle-Hungry-Ca...;rh=&page=1

i was actually looking for this one but found they only have it in full grrrrr

    good luck!

    sandra

    ETA this

I really like the 'monkey' bedding but can't believe they don't have twins size sheet/bedding. I've seen home decor of them at Target. Maybe, we could do solid color and hope to find a pillow case with 'monkey' on it?

We'll just keep on looking! I do wish we could split them up so they can have their own room. At this point we have a long way to go with a unfinished basement. For now we'll just use the spare room as the play room.

Keep bringing in more pictures of the bedding!

I found something here online from Target. How about this one....very neutral - clean line - no theme

    For Girl:

    For Boy:

    What did you think?

I like it a lot. It is similar to the one set I showed you. Doesnt have a theme and is pink and blue. You can make the walls neutral and you are good to go.

our problem is that alisha really wants pink and girly - so hard to do one of the gender neutral themes. i think i am going to let them pick their own sheets and then get her a pink comforter to match her sheets and him a blue (or chambray) comforter - that way the room will not be as busy as two different comforter patterns, but they each get to pick something they like. kind of like those target ones you posted a link to, but more customized to their tastes. that's the idea anyway - we'll see if they go for it!

I found the monkey twin bedding but they are duvet! I think I may go with the clean line with blue/pink and then see if I can some kind of wall sticker that will go with what they like but we're still have not made any transition yet. I would like to do it before their 2nd birthday (of course Mommy want to show off their new bedroom theme). :)

I pretty much want to keep it clean line and keep it neutral since I don't know how long IF they'll share room. As of now, I am going to test them by splitting them up into their own room. If that goes well then I would probably be able to get their own theme. However, we have no play room if we go with that route since our basement is 'unfinished'. I would hate to see all of their toys back into the family room! All about trial and errors with either Plan A or Plan B work for us.

    Thanks!

We have the twins room painted in a really pretty blue color and the theme is the stars and the moon. We have a quilt hanging on the wall of the stars and moon..(white, blue, yellow)....we have pictures stars and moons and a painted beach picture that matches that a friend painted for me.

It is a nice unisex theme and looks really cute.
