questions for those of you whose twins share a crib...

how long did you keep your babies in the same crib? how did you position them to maximize the use of shared space in the crib?

dd1 is starting to squirm around in her swaddle at night, she flipped over the other night (not sure if the arm broke free of the swaddle me first, or the flipping happened first). so now i'm wondering if we should start looking for a second crib. we really were trying to keep them in the same crib for as long as possible.

    thanks for your input!

My duo slept together for the first 2 months and then they got too long to be in it together.

We just seperated our two at 5 months. They were side by side across the cot until they got too tall, then we laid them top and tail and over to one side of the cot for each. They didn't wake each other much and it was much easier for me. They also moved into their own room when they went into their own cots. They were in our room up until then.

They shared a crib until a bit over 2 months. They got too long and their legs stuck between crib bars.

We used separate bassinets for the first two months, then they shared a crib with a velcro crib divider for about a month, maybe two, I think. They were never in the same crib without some sort of separation. They were pretty wiggly all along, so I didn't feel comfortable keeping them in the same space overnight.

My 2 shared a crib & slept side by side for 2 years, then they moved to beds. They each have their own bed now, but they still sleep together more often than not.

My girls are 8mos and still sharing a crib. Right now they're laid perpendicular in the crib with about 18" between them...when we put them down. By the time I check on them when I'm going to sleep, they're spooning. I love, love, love it! My ped thinks its great, his PA hates it. Feels that co-sleeping is dangerous... I'm deferring to the doctor's opinion. ;)
