Alright, I confess. We are in a big bribing stage and I have totally nurtured it...because it is usually foolproof.

My kids will do ANYTHING for a jelly bean.

Next?...

Hmm, bribes? My most powerful bribe at the moment is:

Do you want to be a big boy and _________, OR do I need to ____________ for you like a baby?

Works like a charm.

 

used m&ms to get Micah to pee in the toilet and ringpops for pooping (only once per day so I didn't feel too bad)

worked like a charm.

I LOVE this idea. I never thought to do offer that up. I'll have to remember that.

Mini M&M's for ds1
My grandmother uses these things called Necco wafers. They're thin chalky discs (candy of course) which my younger cousins love.

 

We don't do many bribes yet, but mine are big into squirt bottles. They'll motivate to get through their getting-dressed stuff pretty quickly if I tell them they can play outside with a squirt bottle as soon as they're ready for school.

 

they will do anything for:

-an orange "pee-pop" (basically a homemade freeze pop - 1/2 orange juice & 1/2 water)
-play-dough time
-a juice box (mots for tots)

Today I told DD if she'd take a nap daddy will take her to ride the horse(carasel at the mall) when he gets home....he's not going to though but I was desperate for her to sleep. Mommy needed a 2 year old break.

Now....ask me what I have to bribe them to do? I have two boys that are not very interested in learning to do fine motor things---so I have to bribe them to practice writing their names....or practice cutting! They are NOT interested 95% of the time unless I mention a treat.

Embarrassing...I know.
