Has your doctor put any restrictions on sex? I'm 32 weeks, we haven't had any complications and my dr hasn't mentioned anything one way or another.

DH hasn't been too interested but I'm hoping that one of these days I can convince him ;). I have an appt on the 4th and I will ask then but I just wondered what everyone else's dr said.

(half of me is too exhausted and uncomfortable to want it anyway but part of me wants too)

I was told by the doctor no sex from 32 weeks on because my cervix was shortening and I was beginning to dialate, so for safety that was stopped. I did not mind to much as my tummy was getting in the way :)

There should be no problem with having sex unless you were having complications or were starting to dilate.

I was told no, but was being monitored for preterm labor, she said once I hit 34 weeks we could, although we didn't...the girls came at 34w5d...now to wait another 5 weeks.

I had no cervical or PT-labor issues, and had sex up until 37 weeks, the day before my c/s.

I was on "complete pelvic rest " from the day of th transfer (IVF) until the end. DH would not have done it anyway - ESP since the babies were girls - he said it was just to weird? like they could see it or something!?

I haven't been too interested in it at all this time. I have either had really bad MS, been too tired, or just been too worried to even think about it. My OB knows this so we haven't really discussed it recently. He had said it was fine until about 28 weeks, I think and then we should stop. I don't know if that helps. We're almost there.

My regular OBGYN didn't say a thing about pelvic bedrest. But then she sent me to a specialist for my son's kidneys she said they were dilated. Anyways while there, I was 20 weeks... he told me not to have any sex, anything inserted in the vagina, or anal. I didn't understand why, he didn't say anything and they only did an ultrasound so I don't know how he would know if I was dilating which my regular OBGYN hasn't said anything. I took his advice, but ended up having sex last week, just once. But then I felt bad, so I am going to wait again.

Ok, maybe a little TMI, but I was never on any type of bedrest or anything like that, and we had sex at least 5x per week throughout my entire pregnancy! The last time the day before I gave birth.

WOW, 5 times a week!! I'm just in my 1st trimester so I'm like, don't touch me. . . but I hear in the 2nd trimester it gets better! Poor DH. . . but I would rather sleep!! (the banana guy doesn't really fit but I find it amusing)

Heck, I WISH my DH weren't interested!

I told DH that we pretty much can't do it anymore. I am SO uncomfortable when we do. No matter what position - it just doesn't feel right. So, we've gotten creative

But my OB told me that she was much too paranoid (for no real reason other than being a paranoid person) to have sex when she was PG with twins. I'm not paranoid - just uncomfortable. But she said there's no reason for me not too - she isn't putting any restrictions on me. My cervix looks ideal and I went full term with #1 who was just an ounce shy of 9lbs. So.... really it is simply just preference!

    :)
