    Hi,

This is my first pregnancy, so I have absolutely no idea what to expect. I've been wondering about a couple of things and I'm hoping that some of you who are further along in your pregnancies can help me out.

    1. I keep reading (mostly on another forum) about twin moms (also in their first pregnancy) who started wearing maternity pants at 8-9 weeks. I'm almost 12 weeks along and I'm still wearing my regular clothes. I can tell that my abdomen is a bit larger, but mostly I just feel bloated. My pants don't have as much room as they once did, but there is still room and they aren't feeling tight. Is it normal to not look pregnant yet at this stage of the game?

    2. Does the frequent urinating ever let up for twin mommies or am I doomed to have to pee every hour during the night during the whole pregnancy? I know that many people with singletons get some relief in the second tri and I'm hoping that will be the same for me. I'm so tired anyway and not getting more than 1-2 hours of sleep at a time is not helping.

    3. If you experienced morning sickness, did it let up for you in the second tri? I've been pretty sick. It has been a little better the past week or so, but then I'll have a set back and have a rough day. I just really am hoping that there will be some time during this pregnancy when I will feel good and will maybe actually even enjoy pregnancy. Right now I have to keep reminding myself that I wanted this.

    4. Do people feel movement earlier with twins than singleton pregnancies? Of course, I haven't felt anything yet, I'm just wondering.

Well, I'm sure I'll think of more questions, but those are the ones that have been on my mind recently. Thank you for your help.

I was out of my clothes at 6-8 weeks, and in full maternity at 12, but, it was my 4th and 5th baby!

It did let up for a bit, but it was really horrible by the 3rd trimester!

I was SO sick, and I finally stopped throwing up around 24 weeks. Until then, I didn't gain hardly any weight.

    4. Do people feel movement earlier with twins than singleton pregnancies? Of course, I haven't felt anything yet, I'm just wondering.

I felt movement at 13-14 weeks with the twins, but again, #4 and #5, so I knew what I was feeling.

I hope you start feeling better soon! The nausea/sickness, makes it really difficult to enjoy being pregnant!! :hug99:

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Every twin mom-to-be seems to have thier own course, but I'll share with you my experience and hopefully that will answer some of your questions:

    1. I WAS needing bigger pants by about 9 or 10 weeks and decided to go right to maternity rather than a bigger size. I started at a size 10-12, so there wasn't much room left to go up anyway. I had no morning sickness at all, and instead, I was starving and ate all the time during my first tri, so gained weight pretty quickly. But I don't think it's unusual at all to still fit into your regular pants at 12 weeks, even with twins.

    2. Yes, you will finally stop peeing every 1-2 hours once you get into the 2nd trimester. It was great to finally sleep through the night without having to get up to pee! Enjoy it while you can, because the frequent bathroom trips return during the third trimester, mostly because there are growing babies sitting on your bladder!

    3. Sorry to hear about your MS, and hopefully it will go away soon. I was VERY lucky not to have any at all....

    4. I had heard that you would feel movement earlier with twins, but this is my first pregnancy, too, and I don't think I really knew what it was supposed to feel like. I felt definite kicking at about 19-20 weeks, and the it was only once in a while and when I would lie down and really concentrate. Now they kick all the time and there's no mistaking it! Those who have had babies before, and those who started off pretty thin probably feel it a bit earlier....

    Hope that helps!

Hello :) This is my first pregnancy, so I don't know everything, but I'll try to help, based on my experiences so far::

    1. I started needing maternity pants at about 16 weeks. My jeans with a rubber band just weren't cutting it anymore haha but everyone is different. Be thankful you're still in your regular pants...I wish I was!!

    2. Mine was pretty bad in the beginning, but in the second trimester, it did let up a little. I'm in my 3rd now, and it's back with full force <_<

    3. I had HORRIBLE morning sickness, all the way up to about 24 weeks! :bad:

    4. I felt my first flutters around 17 weeks. :D

Hope this helped a little, just remember, everyone is different. Congrats, and good luck in your pregnancy!!

Edited to add: my answers did not come through
    1. I fit in all of my clothes until about the 15th week and then all of the sudden my stomach happened!
    2. I wish I could say that the frequent urination let up for me but it has not
    3. Morning sickness ended for me in my second trimester. I have a couple of days where I feel sickish but they are very rare anymore
    4. This is my first pregnancy, so I have not felt anything yet.

    Congratulations!

I was in full Maternity clothes at about 14 weeks. this is my second pregnancy

    2. Does the frequent urinating ever let up for twin mommies or am I doomed to have to pee every hour during the night during the whole pregnancy? I think it depends on your body and how much water you drink.

I think I started wearing Maternity clothes around 10 weeks or so...not because I actually looked pregnant but becuase it was much more comfortable. I also used the Belly Bands (they have a name) that you wear over your normal unbuttoned jeans, and those worked well for me.

    2. Does the frequent urinating ever let up for twin mommies or am I doomed to have to pee every hour during the night during the whole pregnancy? I pee all the time and still waking up many times through the night....im not thinking its getting any better, if anything probably a little worse...

I never had any morning sickness, so I would be no help here

I felt flutters around 14-15 weeks (nothing consistant), but I have really started feeling them a lot in the last week and I am just over 20 weeks

i started fully wearing maternity clothes around 17 weeks or so

    2. Does the frequent urinating ever let up for twin mommies or am I doomed to have to pee every hour during the night during the whole pregnancy? I know that many people with singletons get some relief in the second tri and I'm hoping that will be the same for me. i dont think it ever stops...atleast it hasnt for me

i am still occasionally sick, and it was TERRIBLE for the first five months. but i was the same way with DD too

    4. Do people feel movement earlier with twins than singleton pregnancies? Of course, I haven't felt anything yet, I'm just wondering.

i think i felt movement earlier with the twins, but not very consistant, so dont get worried!

Well, I'm sure I'll think of more questions, but those are the ones that have been on my mind recently. Thank you for your help.

Hi, I'm just about as far along as you and just wanted to say hi :)

I'm not much help with the questions since I'm a newbie too.....but my morning sickness backed off during week 8 luckily. It was so bad prior that I called the doctor and they told me I could take b6 and unisom....I'm still taking the unisom just to help me sleep. You may want to call your doctor if it's still bothering you. I was wondering the same thing about the belly!! Im just bloated too, flat in the mornings, big in the afternoons! My clothes are tight because I've gained 5-7 pounds and some of the maternity clothes that were loaned to me are much more comfortable than my regular clothes.

    Good luck!!

    1. I still have one pair of non-maternity pants that fit!!! My mom had gastric bypass surgery a few years ago and she saved some of her 10-14 sized clothes. I started in an 8 pre-preggo and am actually worried that I'm not gaining enough weight. Everyone's body is different. I didn't even know it was twins till week 18 since I was not growing as quickly as a twin mommy "normally" does.

    2. Pre-pregnancy, I peed at least once a night. 1st trimester was about 3 times. 2nd trimester was 2-3 times and now I'm up every 2 hours. I can't tell if the leg cramps wake me up first or my bladder. Regardless, I need to pee and switch sleeping sides every 2 hours.

    3. I was really lucky and was only nauseous for a few weeks (only vomiting twice).

    4. I think I felt movement around 20 weeks. I had no idea what to expect and now they don't stop moving!!

I heard today on "House of Babies" one midwifes opinion on why the third trimester is so uncomfortable. She said it makes the moms beg to go into labor! :D I too remind myself daily that the babies will be well worth it in the end!

You guys are great! I expected a couple of responses to my questions, but I didn't think I'd get so many. I appreciate that you all took the time to answer. I'm feeling pretty good today and I seem to be having more good days than bad days, so maybe my morning "all day" sickness is letting up a bit. I'm still tired ALL THE TIME though.
