Hello, friends! I recently started looking into the issue of shift schedule optimization using different services, and came across Shifton. I read a bunch of positive reviews, but I had doubts about its flexibility. I am especially interested in how accurately the system takes into account the individual preferences of employees, such as the desire to work night shifts or, conversely, only during the day. To what extent can you manually adjust the automatic schedule if unforeseen situations arise? Does anyone use Shifton in practice? It is important for me to understand how useful this tool is in real working conditions.

I work in the HR department of the company where we decided to implement Shifton a couple of months ago, and I want to share my experience. In general, the system really helps in organizing schedules, but, like any other automated tool, there are some nuances. When we first started, I was also interested in how accurately the shift schedule creator would be able to take into account all the preferences of employees. This is especially important for us, since our team is quite diverse - someone wants to work only evening shifts, someone, on the contrary, only morning shifts, and some generally sit on 4/3 of the schedule, do not like to work at night. In this regard, https://shifton.com/shift-scheduling pleasantly surprised us, because, despite its automation, it is quite flexible. In the settings, you can set individual preferences for each employee, for example, what shifts they are ready to work, how many hours a week will be optimal for them, and what days they prefer to have days off. What I really like is the ability to combine automatic and manual scheduling. For example, when the system generates a schedule, it automatically tries to distribute shifts taking into account all the restrictions and wishes of employees. But if for some reason something goes wrong, you can manually adjust the schedule. This is important because there are always moments when you need to adjust the schedule to reality: someone gets sick, someone cannot work at the appointed time, and someone, on the contrary, agrees to work overtime to replace a colleague.

I wonder how things are with synchronization with other tools that the company already has? We use several systems for accounting of working hours and vacations, and if Shifton integrates with them, that would be great.
