    hey guys...I need some advice.

Yesterday I got this horrible stomach virus and was sick off and on all day long. I was not able to keep anything down so I got worried about getting dehydrated and called the doctor. The called me in some phenergan and reluctanctly I took one last night. (I am not big on taking meds...especially when pregnant). thankfully I have not been sick again and I have been sipping fluids all day, still haven't ate much food yet but trying. My concern is that I still feel really bad. I can't put my finger on it, I know I will be tired and weak for a day or two but I feel really restless and like there's something wrong. I just have a weird feeling, I hope I am just over-reacting but I am worried about the babies! The best way I can describe the feeling is like I can't breath good, like something is on my chest but I am breathing fine so I don't understand. Any advice!!! Should I call the doctor and if so what should I say...I am just kinda freaking out!

    Thanks for the help!!!

I get this all the time infact am suffering from it today. I have asthma however... But I feel like I cant breath even though I can. Also feels like theres something sitting on my chest. I have asked several dr's about this before and no one can give me an answer so if you get one from your Dr I would love to hear it.

Good Luck and feel better soon!

You should always call the doc if you are feeling uneasy. Even if it is nothing it is best to have your mind at ease. It could simply be anxiety because you don't like taking meds, it could be the way your are sitting or positioned. Please call the OB just simply so you can relax!

When you are pregnant your lung capacity increases and you would think that would make it easier to breath. In actuality it makes it harder to catch your breath. Also, as your uterus grows it pushes up against your diaphram and that makes it more difficult to take a big breath. This is somthing that becomes more present as you progress through your pegnancy. One of the many "joys". When I start feeling this way it helps if I prop myself at about 45 degrees, close my eyes and just focus on relaxing. Try not to focus on your breath. Just relax. I hope that helps......But, you should also trust your gut and give doc a call.

Are you sure it is a stomach bug and not food poisoning?

When you are pregnant with one baby your blood volume increases by 50 % with two it increases 100% and in the first trimester there is the effects of the progesterone all causes you to have this awful feeling of shortness of breath. I am pregnant again and had it again with this pregnancy. Just going up the stairs I feel like i have to breath out to expell enough carbon dioxide to get enough oxygen. With the twins I had the shortness of breath and fast heart rate when I was lying in bed !!!! you also feel scared. I found I wanted to be near people who could protect me (if that makes sense), even by my second trimester with the twins I wanted to be with my mom.

It really will get better, but always good to see a doctor plus it just gives you some sense of security talking to a doctor especially a good one. Best to have a doctor familiar with multiples.
