So, my chunk-o-monk has become very difficult to feed. Jonathan has always been easy to feed with his bottle. And initionally he really liked having solid food. But oer the course of several days he is getting to the point of refusing to eat. What the heck is going on? I introduce new food every 3 days, they have had no reactions to anything. They have cereal with every meal. I thought that he was getting sick of cereal with his meal. So I separated everything out and he was so mad. He haed his meal.

What should I do? Should I keep going? David was a little difficult in the beginning, but he moved passed it and loves everything I give to him.

It is coming to the point that we hate meal time!

    Help,
    Jenn

I would cut back on the number of times you are feeding solids for a couple of days and see if maybe they are just getting too much. Then, I would just do cereal and forget the purees and gradually start to work them back in.

It's probably just a stage. I'd just keep on trying. Maybe he's just not as hungry right now.

Funny, my boys did the exact same thing. The guy who started out the front runner, loving all solids, now is refusing them all! And the one who was slow to warm up, is now gobbling everything down! HA! I think our babies just like to keep us guessing! I asked my pedi since we were there for the well-baby. She said just to keep trying things as we introduce new foods (and cycling back to old ones), and at this age (a little over 6 mos) it's normal to kind of go through these phases.
She did say if he's making "yuck faces" or turning his head away, just to end the feeding that day for him... Hope that helps, and that our little ones start liking all these yummy new foods soon!

Are they getting any new teeth? We also had food regression when they were getting new teeth.

Babies are so fickle, the least little thing will have them changing their routine/schedule on you!

I agree it could be teething, could be a stage, could be boredom with the food...could be anything.

But at 6 months old it's probably nothing to worry about, as long as they are still getting all their formula then I would ease off on the solids a bit for a few days and then try again. :)

    UPDATE:

Both of the boys have two teeth, so maybe they are getting top ones. Already?
They are gettng their formula and doing fine. Today, I waited for him to tell me when he was hungry. They usually have the same routine and I guess they decided to wait.

much better, he ate better, but not as well as his brother...

I am going to keep trying! Thank you everyone for your help,
    Jenn

Definitely could be teeth. Both of my LOs got 6 teeth in about 6 weeks. They came in 2s. However, it didn't seem to affect their eating.
