Well after fighting with them like crazy to stay in bed, go to sleep, stay asleep and stay in their beds - I did it! I moved them into seperate rooms.

One night sleep - last night and it went well!!! Charlotte went to bed on time, vs bugging her sister and staying awake. Chloe slept until 6am and bugged me and let Charlotte sleep.

Wonder how their step-sister will react when she realizes we gave her room away....eep!! lol Shes now been pushed to the basement (shes 12) I hope that goes ok.

thanks for all the help and suggestions in the other thread.

Congratulations on getting a good nights sleep! I hope that your step-daughter is ok with the new arrangement. Hey, she might like the added privacy of being down there!

    CONGRATULATIONS ON THE SEPARATION!

we HAD to separate our b/g twins after we realized it took them 1.5 hours to settle down and go to sleep without keeping the other up.

our favorite was when we overheard our dd tell her brother on the monitor...
"christopher...wake up... i have a popsicle for you!"

now they have their own rooms and are in the process of decorating with their own unique "styles".

    pirate room for chris
    princess diva room for alissa

its inspired me to redo my own bedroom. (my own room, what a concept)

hope it all goes well with your stepdaughter. maybe getting something to reflect her "style" might ease the transition.

Lol - their step sister, not my step daughter...lol, my wifes stepdaughter...am I saying that right? lol

Is it step sister or half sister? i dont know. Shes my daughter who stays on the weekends.....as much as a 12 year old feels like anyhow.... [IMG]

The only sucky thing about this whole arrangement and they havet voiced it yet - but the room they were both in (now Chloe's room) has a great wall mural pained on it - with a white picket fence, I suspect we will have to do something in Charlottes room soon.

    Thanks for good wishes.

Could you rephrase the bedroom move as one of maturity for step-sister. "you are so big we thought you would like a little more privacy?" or something like that?

If it's your daughter, then it's the twins' half-sister.

I wish we could seperate ours.. We just moved to toddler beds two nights ago, and it's not going well...

Hope the separation continues to go well!

I'm so glad it worked and they are sleeping better. We plan on separating ours when they move to big beds, which hopefully won't be for a very long while.

Glad to hear that the transition went well. We too have separate rooms and it was the best thing that we ever did. And like others have mentioned, maybe your DD will like to have her own "space." Maybe you can involve her in the process (i.e., let her choose new paint, new bedding, etc. for her "new" room).

When you all (those of you who have separated your twins) decided to separate, how do you decide who stays in the current room and who moves?
