Tonight is the night. We are separating the kids into their own rooms. I'm a little bit nervous as they have always shared a room. Anybody have any advice or words of wisdom?

    hmmm, I'm torn!
I can't decide if you should go to the new room w/ that child a little early to get them used to it or just pretend nothing's new!?
    Do they know it's coming?

We've talked about them getting their own rooms, but I'm not sure if they grasp the concept completely. I think I'm leaning toward taking the nothing is new approach. Worst case scenario, we move them back together if it's a total nightmare.

Just another thought, what if you made a really big deal about it, how it is so neat they will each have their own room and put a few special toys in there that are just for them. So maybe they would get excited about it? Just a thought.

    Good luck, Trish!

We also have seperate rooms, and it works well for us. I'm hoping to put them in the same room eventually, but plan to keep them seperated until they have outgrown naps...however long that lasts.

Let us know how it goes.

    Yeah!

When we split them up, they were younger, but we made a big deal out of it. They had some of their own toys in their own room, and it was clear that one room was Ben's and one room was Hannah's. They went to bed perfectly that night!

I hope you have a similar experience. I guarantee you will love having them separated!!!

No advice since mine will be together until DD goes to college. Good luck though!

OH NO, poor Trish's children have been so out of control since the switch, that she hasn't had a MOMENT to check TS.

Hee, hee...just kidding Trish. Hope it went well.

Hi guys! Sorry we have been busy sorting through millions of boxes. Well we separated them and honestly it was no big deal. I think they were so happy to have their beds and stuff back that they didn't really pay much attention to it. So thus far it's going pretty well. Thanks for all the words of encouragement.
