Separate classrooms and 1st bday invite

I was worried with some of the postings I've read on TS about how the girls were going to handle being in separate classes and the separate birthday party invitations that would be coming. Well they've been really good about being in separate classes - I really think in their case "absence has made the heart grow fonder." There are 3 K classes and they all play together at recess so the girls will find each other at recess, they also rotate for math and reading, so they've told me they see each other in the hall and wave or hug each other. If they were together in the same class I would expect shoving and pushing! Natalie came home with her 1st birthday invitation yesterday and Brooke could have cared less - so something I was not looking forward to ended up not being a big deal!

I remember the first time Jayden got an invite from a classmate and he was TOTALLY offended when he found out the invite was for HIM and didn't include Jesse. I had to explain that this was going to happen and that it was OK. Come to find out .. the birthday boys mom had NO idea Jayden was a twin and felt bad she didn't include Jesse in the invite. But every other invite we got was addressed to both boys even though they are in different classrooms.

I'm glad it wasn't a big deal to your girls ! Thats ONE hurdle you got over without tripping ! :)

Some days I wonder if separating them was a good thing (they miss each other a lot) .. but deep down I know it was for the better. Jayden is VERY dominate and Jesse needs this break from his brother. They're classrooms are right next door to each other and they get to see each other at lunch and recess. Plus they get to visit each others classrooms on occasion.

I hope your girls have a wonderful year !

We separated this year and it has been totally not even a big deal. They see each other at recess and enjoy it, but I think they were both really ready for their own space.

It's nice when changes go so easily.

Glad it's working out so well for you and your girls!

Our first birthday invite for just one was no big deal either. Bryony was more upset the first time Alyssa came out with a sticker and she didn't have one!

It would be a huge deal here and I'm not looking forward to it. Trevor got mad the other day because Trent's picture of his "favorite day" was himself at the beach (no Trevor in the picture). I told him that I wasn't in the picture either and that this picture was about Trent doing something he enjoys and he doesn't have to draw everyone who was there. Still, it really, really bothered Trevor to be left out. Sigh.

We dealt with some of that last year and they were in the same preschool class. There were several girl only parties that Sofia got invited to. We just make sure to plan something fun for the child that is not attending. Glad your girls handled it well!

We got our first bday invite... they were fine after I explained why only one was invited. It turns out though when I spoke to the mom...and explained to her if that if she wanted us to stay we'd have another daughter, otherwise we could just drop one off... and she invited her as well. I was actually glad that they had accepted the fact that only one would go but this is fine too since my girls classes are next to each other they both know the bday girl. :)

My girls are in separate K classes this year. Peyton came home with an invite addressed to Paige in her folder. They said that both girls were invited and Paige + birthday girl brought the invite to Peyton's class. I went ahead and called the parent to be sure. All went well, except my 3 year old was very put off since this was the first time she wasn't invited to a birthday party!

I had already talked with the girls about possibly not being invited to the same parties...
