I'm pretty sure the girls are fraternal but we've had enough people say they look identical and I've heard so many stories about id babies looking different that I went ahead and ordered the test. I'm so excited to find out for sure! They say it takes 10 business days so we'll have to wait a bit but it should be fun when the results arrive. I'll let you know!
DH is so weird though. I took the swabs and then he asks "they can't use these samples to clone our babies, can they?" Uh, no, I don't think they'll be doing that.

Do you have anymore details on the kit you sent away for? We thought all throughout the pregnancy that my boys were fraternal...spontaneous twins, seperate sacs and placentas, but they look so much alike. So we're curious. Thanks and I'll be looking for your results.

    Lisa-
I looked up some companies on the internet and thought Proactive Genetics looked pretty reputable. Then I saw the link at the top right hand corner of this very website and figured others here have probably used it too. You can request the kit on the internet or by phone and they send it out right away. I received it two days later. You just use the swabs to rub off some cells from the inside of their cheeks and put the swabs into a tube. Put the tubes into a pre-paid envelope and send it off! It was very easy and cost $160 I think. I'm so tired of saying "we think they are frat but we're not sure". I'll be so happy to say one way or the other with confidence!!

Let us know how it turns out!!! How exciting!!! I want to do this testing for our girls. We can tell them apart, but everyone else thinks they are id. I'd like to know one way or the other. And the big question from friends and family all of the time is are they id or frat?
When we say we don't know it always turns into a huge discussion because so many ppl think they have to be in the same sac to be id.
I have one person that always says they weren't in the same sac. I asked her. They can't be id. I'm tired of trying to explain the whole twin logistics to her...........since she "knows it all".

Anyway, what an exciting time. I'll be looking for your update post!

let us know how it goes, I want to get ours done too. I keep doubting that they identical I guess it is because I see so many differances. They where in 1 big sac and then in separate sacs in that sac one placenta though, but how do I know it did not fuse together. I am always questioning it though. But let us know I am excited to hear your experience.

this is what keeps me confused, too! I only had one placenta, but they said it was on the large side. so, they told me it possibly was two fused together.
wish we knew. somedays our girls look just alike. it all depends on how they hold their mouth, etc. from certain views it's hard to tell who is who, but from the front I can tell right off.
they have the same hair, ears, eyes, nose, fingers, toes, etc so it makes me "think" they may be identical and that their weight difference and facial expressions it why we can tell them apart.
I could not tell them apart until they were around 6 mos old or so.

    oh well..........one of these days!
