My friend is on strict bed rest.... she has been since week 7. She is currently at 20 weeks....she has a long way to go. She has a little 1 1/2 year old too...I know things are hard. Anyways...I don't live near her and I wanted to send her a "bed rest" care package. What are some good ideas for stuff to put in it??

    thanks!

You are so kind to do that!

here are somethings that I would love to have delivered to me!!!

Snacks...healthy and junk! LOL Lifesavers, mints, stationary/thank you notes/an assorted box of cards (bday, missing you, cheer) magazines, a few things for the little one....chapstick, lipgloss, bath gels, pretty much anything you would put in an over night back for traveling.

Your friend will love you forever!

Maybe a membership to an online movie rental place like Netflix or Blockbuster? I know I've watched a lot of movies and TV series on DVD. If she's a crafty person maybe something like knitting would be a time-passer. Magazines and books are also good, IMO.

And honestly, sometimes a phone call cheers me up more than anything. It gets lonely on bedrest so getting talk to someone is always a good thing. Just let her know you're thinking of her. She'll appreciate that.

I was on strict bedrest for over 3 weeks, and thankfully I have great friends that sent me awesome care packages!! Some of the things I found to ne most helpful in passing the time were:
A journal (very therapeutic, and a keepsake...)
Lotions (from Bed Bath and Beyond, that way you at least smell fresh!)
    Manicure Set/ Nail Polish
    Soduku Books
    Magazines
    Books

    Hope that helps...

I second everything that everyone has posted!! Little gifts for her child are a good idea. They can keep him/her busy for at least a little bit.

Gift cards for places that can deliver meals to the home are wonderful.
Maybe you can even find out who her stylist is and if they can pop into her home to give her a special pick me up from you.
Gifts for the older child is a great idea, perhaps some puzzles that mom can help with, or a nice DVD so mom can get a nap.
Does she do any crafting? Some things can be done while resting.
Or maybe See if she can send you a nice family pic and have their Holiday cards done for them!
