Self feeding

Hi!

I was just wondering when your twins started feeding themselves independantly? Without throwing the plate, spoon / fork or food all over the place?

I would say they started doing this really well around 20 months.

I try almost everyday with them, some days they get it and other's not. I know they much prefer fingerfoods on the highchair tray! lol! Usually they'll eat their main meal at dinner time with us.

 

Mine are FAR from it, that's all I know!! <_<

 

Yep! Some days I see a ray of light shining through the clouds...but it's only a brief ray...oh well...soon enough I suppose!

 

I gave up trying.

 

funny this was posted today... as I was sitting at work I got a call from DF who said he gave the boys their own bowls and spoons today and that they did really well, considering it was their first time... made quite a mess but still tried and seemed to enjoy it...

Mine are only now starting to get the concept of the plate/bowl/spoon/fork and the equivalent of eating. However, mine oftentimes hold the spoon and then feed themselves with their hands...I'm tired of saying, "no, use your spoon." I know they can...I've seen them do it.

 

My DS has excellent motor skills and was about 13-14 mo.

 

Well? At about 22 months.

Without too much throwing? At about 18 months.

I still didn't let them have glass plates at restaurants until 3 years old though because they were apt to knock those down. Dax does much better than the girls did though.
