Scooter

We'd like to get our oldest DD a scooter for Christmas. She is 3 and will turn 4 in June. What do you think? 3 or 2 wheels? I'd like it to "last" (meaning she won't outgrow) as many years as possible without compromising safety. Any advice?

 

My neice and nephews are the chariot type three wheel scooters and they love them. The oldest is 10 and he still zooms around the cul-de-sac on it. The seem a lot safer and more stable if you ask me! When the twins get old enough, I am hoping my sis will pass them down to me!

 

I would go with the three wheels for extra stability. Mine have scooters and they don't mind the third wheel at all.

My 3yo's scooter has 3 wheels. It's a Radio Flyer. He got it last Christmas when he was 2yo. He loves it.

 

I would get the 3 wheel. We got the 2 wheel ones for the boys this year at age 5--mostly because Jon was too tall for the 3 wheeler, and it took them about 3 months to get used to it.

 

I would say 3 wheels. My oldest DD got a scooter with 2 wheels at 5 years old and still took some time to get used to the 2 wheels. 3 wheels are much easier, they don't have to worry about balancing.

 

Definitely three wheels. We are looking at the 3 wheeled scooters for the boys for Christmas.
