The boys go to a playgroup, through EI as community kids. It's only one day a week for two hours. I do look forward to it, as Annabella and I have one on one time. Not to mention doing all of the errands with one kid vs. three! My question-when do you send them and when do you keep them home?!? I was a former teacher-so I was on the other side...lol! They have a clear runny nose. As of now-nothing else. If I mention it to one of the teachers, they always say as long as they haven't had a fever they can go. So what is your protocol for sending them vs keeping them home? I generally keep them home because I don't want to be "that" mom that sends sick kids to school when I am home. But at this rate with the seasons changing and winter coming, they are going to have a runny nose until May!
To me, a clear runny nose with no other symptoms is fine to go. I would be leary of a hacking cough that won't go away, but if it's just a nose run, it could just be the change in weather.
I've been going through the same thing with my girls since they go to Mother's Day Out one day/week. I think a clear runny nose is fine, as long as they have no fever. My girls had a really nasty sounding cough that was quite productive a couple weeks ago and I kept them home for that. If you kept them home everytime they had a runny nose they would probably never get to go!! Send them and enjoy your time with Annabella!!
Our preschool is fine with the runny nose as long as it isn't too nasty. Just a clear runny nose or a bit of a cough is fine.
Yeah I sent them. They weren't bad at all. No coughing either. I did keep them home a few weeks ago when they had an awful cough. Let's hope the runny nose is all they get! And while out I was able to get their birthday gifts! Woohoo!
I would say send them if it is just clear drainage and no fever or cough present. Mine often wake up with a runny/snotty nose (because of allergies) this time of year and by mid morning they are just fine.
I sent them. And they still have a little runny nose, but it's not crazy-so that's good. A little congestion but nothing bad overall. Still no sneezing/coughing, etc. Let's hope it stays that way!
