scheduling question

how many weeks is it before they generally schedule you for a c-section

 

I believe that every doctor is different. I have read on Twinstuff that some do it early on and others wait until the end. My doctor wouldn't schedule my c/s until I was 38 weeks... and it was for 39 weeks. :good: Maybe you can give your doctors office a call and see what their policies are.

 

Yep, every doctor has his/her own opinion on this one! My first doctor would have scheduled the section for 37 weeks! Which I thought was too early. I thought unless there was some emergency reason to do it then it wasn't a good idea! The doctor who delivered mine was adamant about waiting until at the very least 38 weeks...he was always trying to slow me down on thinking about it. My A baby was head down but B baby was breech...I thought I'd have to have a section...my doctor talked me out of it. I have never been happier about taking his advice! He knew what he was doing for sure! Looks like you are right at the point where you want to deliver those babies! FYI...I went into labor naturally at the point you are now at!

 

Agree with PP all OB are different. My scheduled my c-section when I was 28 weeks but he did it only because I was asking for vaginal delivery and he doesn't allow me to have one. so he said he will schedule the c-sectin for me so I can get used to this... my c-section would be at 37w3d. ( 6/30/09)

 

It depends on the doctor and the hospital you deliver at. Most consider between 37-38 wks safe to schedule.
