So Seth my poor eater (but great sleeper)… wakes up at 6 (same as his bro) and has 5 oz then the next bottle is at 9 (5oz)… Nathan is more than happy to take… Seth … NOPE just play with it for an hour… then right at 10 when I’m about to dump it out… he takes it all… then the next bottle at 12 Nathan takes (5oz) but nope, not Seth… he play with it for an hour… and at 1 when I am going to throw it away… he takes it… same with the 3 o’clock bottle (6-7 oz) Seth won’t take it until 4pm… and the 7pm bottle (8oz) Seth doesn’t take it until 8 (that messes w/ the 8 bed time….)

Any ideas… I don’t like them being on different schedule, and Nathan can’t wait 4 hours for his next bottle… he’s my chunky monkey… and Seth just wont take it until an hour later...

Maybe I just need to make bigger bottles at each feeding (and be prepared to dump some out) and hope now Nathan will go four hours and Seth will now take 6 oz at each meal… hmmmmm

    Any ideas…

    Thanks...

That is what I was thinking. Make Seth a bigger bottle and see if you can stretch him to 4 hours and if not maybe try 15 minutes longer and go from there and see if you can get them back on the same schedule. Maybe do something fun with them to help kill some time to stretch the length between bottles.

My babies rarely ate the same amount at the same time at that age. They also didn't nap at the same time. I tried all kinds of things, but eventually just went with it. Now they eat at the same time for their first bottle and their solids and that's it. They still don't take their evening bottles at the same time.

What if you work on pushing Nathan's bottles back by 15 minutes or so, and Seth's up by 15 minutes or so? So Nathan gets his bottles at 9:15/9:30, 12:15/12:30, etc. And Seth gets his at 9:30/9:45, 12:30/12:45, etc.

I actually liked when mine are staggered by 15-30 minutes so I can feed one, then feed the other. Once they starting crawling, they got too active to sit still in a boppy pillow and feed themselves a bottle.

Oh my goodness I am RIGHT there with you. Every time I am close to dumping the bottle out Julia will drink it like she hasn't eaten in days. I just don't get it. I am really trying to get them on a good schedule but the inconsistency in eating and napping is HARD.

I really need to start writing this stuff down so I can see a pattern. Maybe that will help me out!

I'm going to try the pushing one forward and pushing one back thing. Either way it doesn't really matter how much I put in the bottles they both kind of stop at 5/6 ounces.

Mine were not eating at the same time at that age. I also like pp's suggestions on making Seth a bigger bottle or moving Seth's bottle up 15 min and Nate's back 15 min.

Okay, I'm going to duck the tomatoes while I post this...

I dealt with this too and having a just turned one year old in addition to the two older kids, the twins HAD to eat at the same time on the schedule we had set based on all the other kid's needs as well. At three months, they had about 30 min to eat. If they hadn't eaten much, I'd finish the one who was eating well and give the poor eater about ten more minutes. After that, they were done until the next feeding. All babies are different, and some may not be able to handle it. All of my kids went through a phase like this and it took missing a bottle here and there to get back on track. I just knew I couldn't do two feeding schedules for them. Good luck figuring things out. Oh, Kayci had reflux too which made her a tough feed but we got it straightened out with meds and a very consistent schedule.
