    Hi
I am a first time mom with 6 month old twins (born @ 35 weeks). For a while I had them going down easily at 8 pm with a bottle and they one would dream feed at 12 and they would both sleep until 5. Daytime feeding was on a schedule but naps were kid of random.
Now it all seems to be falling apart. They have been waking up in the night every couple of hours - not at the same time. Benn the biggest is staying up fpor an hour sometimes.

I had a nanny start 2 weeks ago. She is really sweet to the boys, but thinks they need bottles between their feeings at 8 , noon and 4. She had them back eating every 2 hours until I asked her to try to put them to sleep or distract them when they cry.

I am home but trying to train her to be on her own when I go to work.

I don't know what to do. I feel like we are quickly losing any gains we have made!

Is it possible to have them on a schedule? They are big happy boys @ 15 and 18 llbs.

    Help

Here's our schedual... naps are totally random....still hoping they will get longer, but they are still only 30 minutes at a time...

    7am - wake
    7:30 - bottle
    9am - nap
    9:30 - "Breakfast"
    11:30 - Bottle
    noon- nap
    1:30 - Lunch
    2:00pm - Nap
    3:30 - Bottle
    5pm - nap
    6pm - bath
    6:45 - Bottle
    7/7:30 - bed

We actually do eat about every 2 hours... we were at 4 hour feeding schedual during the day at 4 months -- then the boys were getting SOOOO hungry -- we went back down to every 3 hours -- then at 5 1/2 months we added breakfast - 6 months we went to bottle every 4 hours, with breakfast and lunch inbetween.

i TRY to keep them on a schedule, but i am pretty easy going as far as when they nap. i just let them fall asleep when they are ready. i should probably work on that, because within the last week they have been very fussy  . i think it is because they are getting overtired <_<

It is good to know a schedule is possible. How did you do it?
    Any pointers?

Mine are just now getting on a schedule. They kinda put theirselves on one.

    6:30 wake/nurse
    8:30 nap #1
    10:30 solids/nurse
    12:30 nurse/nap
    2:30 nurse
    4:30 or 5 nap
    6:00 solids
    6:30 nurse/bed

I try to be consistent with the morning nap and the one at 12:30.

people will tell you I am a big schedule person. When they aren't on a schedule(we all have our days) I get so frusterated because I don't know whey they are fussy/crying and it is hard for both of us. With a schedule I feel like I know what they need more easily. Mine sleep 12 hours and take 2 naps that are 1 1/2 to 2 hours. About 6 mo we dropped our third nap that was like 30 min about 4 or 5. Some advice on how to put them on a schedule. Eat, play, sleep. When they wake feed them, when they get fussy then you know they are tired so you put them down. This should be about 2 hours after waking. They will then wake up when they are hungry. If they wake at less then an hour I let them fuss until they go back to sleep. When they wake they are hungry and feed them. I only feed(nurse/bottle) them when they wake up except first thing in the morning, I also feed them before they go down for their nap as they have gone 12 hours and need to catch up so they won't be hungry. After their second nap atbout 5 they get fussy as it has been 2 hours. So then we feed solids, get naked, watch baby einstein what ever it takes and they usually get a second wind and make it until 6:30 or 7 when they go down for the night. here is our schdule. Hope it helps.

    7 wake, nurse
    7-9 dress, bath, play
    9 nurse
    9-11 nap
    11 nurse
    11-12 play
    12 solids
    1-3 nap
    3 nurse
    3-5 play
    5 solids
    7 nurse, bed

    12 bottle
play and nap if they want
    3 bottle
    play and nap

By six months, you should probably have some sort of schedule going especially for YOUR sanity.. I started my schedule, or THEY did... at 4 mos (3 mos adjusted-- mine were also 35 weekers..) They are six mos (5 adjusted) on the 26th of this month..

They wake up at the same time EVERY morning 6:35 am.
Eat: 6:45 am 8 oz bottle
    Bed: 8:00 am
    Wake: 9:00 am
Eat: 10:20 am 8 oz bottle * I bump this one up so that they can be in bed "IN TIME" (not over 2 hrs awake..)
    Bed: 10:50 am
    Wake: 11:45 am
    Solids: 12:00 pm
    Eat: 1:30 8 oz bottle
    Bed: 2:00 pm
    Wake 2:45 pm
    Short catnap (maybe) 4-4:20pm
    Bath: 5:10pm
Eat: 5:30 pm 8 oz bottle
    Bed: 6:00 pm SHARP!

And that's IT! Our day every single day... it's on REPEAT....................... Good luck and I started out by just logging every single thing that they did naturally-- picked up on the rhythm and here we are! I still write everything down EVERY day!

Our schedule is flexible during the day, but they eat pretty much every 3-4 hours. Our nighttime is so predictable that I actually wake up about 5 mins before they do. We have cereal around 6, bathtime, then bottle around 6:45 and in bed around 7. They wake up at 12:30 (or an hour variation depending on last big bottle) and then sleep till 5ish when they have another bottle and sleep till 7 or 8am.

At 6 months (this schedule was to get ready for work and we pretty much stuck to it on weekends too):

    5:00 wake up/bf
5:30 cereal and back down for about an hour
    6:45 wake up/play
    8:00 bf
    9:00 nap
    10:00 wake up/play
11:00 bf followed by lunch and then playtime
    1:00p nap
    2:00p wake up/bf/play
4:30p short nap (usually around 30 min)
    5:30p bf
6:30p dinner followed by bath every other night
    7:15p bedtime
    9:30p dreamfeed
    2:30a dreamfeed
