okay well it all started while i was just searching aorund online. and all of a sudden i started getting braxton hicks really bad. like every 4 min. so i called my dr. and explained everything. well she told me to keep track of them and she would call me back. she called me back in 30 min and i had already had 5. it was not good. she told me to come in right away! mind you...im only 24 weeks. so i did. come to find out i am dialated to 1cm and 50% effaced. i was having contractions ever 6 minutes by this time. i got two shots of tribulitine (sp) and they sent me on my way. it worked GREAT! they sent me home with a presciption of procardia and i go get an U/S this week to check my cervical length again! i am so scared!!!!!! she said i was a "loose" 1cm....what does that mean? the babies were doing great through all of this. i am just scared to deliever TOO early! i have a long way to go. just wanted to vent a little and share my story!

I am not sure what a 'loose' 1cm means as I never dilated, but I wanted to tell you to be sure to get LOTS of rest & drink LOTS of water so you can keep those little ones in for longer!
Let us know how everything goes after your next appointment!

Loose dialation at 1 means you are close to 2 cm. I don't want to scare you but that is what that means. I agree with drinking lots of water, keeping your feet up and try to relax and follow doctors orders. It looks like you are about 25 weeks from your ticker....getting them even to 28 weeks would be great but obviously I hope it is much much longer. I'll be thinking of you!

Stay off your feet and lay flat whenever possible. That keeps the pressure off your cervix. Drink more water than you think you can possibly handle and eat alot of protein. Try not to worry too much and follow your doctor's orders. With medication and bedrest, you should be able to hang on for a while.

I'm so glad your doctor is proactive and had you come in. Even if Doc hasn't put you on "bedrest" do it to yourself.

 I am sorry that you had to go through that. Are you still working? I agree with PP that I would be on bedrest if I were you, even if your Dr didn't order that. Did they do and FfN test? Drink a ton of water, and make sure to empty your bladder often! Keep us posted on your progress. I hope things stay calmed down for you and your little ones! GL!

That's really scary!!! But I'm glad for you that you got it sorted out and is now safely at home!! I'd probably take time off work if I were you, even if your doc didn't order you to! Keep cooking momma!!

Thank you all so much for the comforting words! its so hard to be on bedrest when you have two other children. its just outrageously difficult. but i am trying to do my best. are there many of you who have had this happen and still go past 32 weeks? i would really hate to deliver them before then. i would rather wait until they are at least 35 weeks. what are the odds of that happening. and yes i did get an FFN. they did not tell me the results. they just told me to take these pills every 6 hours AS IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON THEM! so that is what i am doing. i have about 8 Braxton Hicks today. so i am hoping when i go in on friday ...i havent changed any! i am sooooooooooo scared! im really not ready emotionally for this. All i wanna do is cry! But i have to stay strong for my other two, also! i just want to have 2 healthy baby girls and take them home with me. Thank you all! i will keep you posted!

I'm so sorry you are having this scare!

Definitely follow all the advice given, especially the water and bedrest. Eggs are also supposed to help strengthen the amniotic sac so try to eat at least a couple of those everyday. If you can keep your amniotic sacs strong, that will keep the babies in longer as well.
