    Hi all,

I'm just looking for some words of wisdom from you ladies - I know that some have you may have experienced something similar to what I'm going through right now.

So I had some bleeding early in the first trimester which was due to a hematoma in my uterus. They didn't think it was near the placenta, and the last u/s at 10 weeks showed it as 2cm big. I had a cerclage put in at 11.5 weeks due to previous IC and that went fine. Fast forward to 12.5 weeks (this past Tuesday night) and I woke up to massive bleeding. So much that I could hear it draining in the toilet and I couldn't stop it from leaking everywhere on the way to the hospital. (Sorry if TMI) They admitted me and I went to the bathroom where I passed a massive clotty mess (larger than the palm of my hand) which the nurse figured was the babies. I had given up all hope when 2 hours later I have an u/s and it shows two babies, two heartbeats. The following day they did another u/s which showed two babies measuring on schedule and a fused placenta. No hematoma. I had my nuchal scan the day after that and they could see nothing wrong with the placenta, no evidence of a hematoma and the babies looked great. Thank goodness.

The doctors can't find any cause for the bleeding or the massive clot I passed. Do any of you have any idea what might have happened? I feel so scared that it might happen again. I guess the hardest part is that I just don't have any answers as to what was going on. I'm 13 weeks today and was really hoping that I could relax a little.. not a chance so far though!

    Thanks in advance,
    Kristy

It sounds like the worst is behind you. The Dr.s would have told you if you were at risk of this happening again. They also would have seen something in the ultrasound that would indicate that it would happen again. I'm really happy that both babies are doing great. It sounds like they are going to be fine. Good luck and keep us posted on how the babies and you are doing.

Man that had to be scary! i'm glad your little ones are doing ok. The human body is a miracle that does weird things that sometimes never get answers. I pray the babies keep cooking without any more problems. It sounds like you've had more than your share already.

Is there any chance that there were 3 in there originally?

I'm so glad the babies are ok!! My best friend had the same thing in October. She was bleeding heavily, she knew there was, a hematoma she passed it and has had a healthy pregnancy ever since. She said she had a hard time relaxing after it as well, but all her future ultrasounds have shown NO evidence of anything wrong or that she ever had a hematoma!!

I pray you have the same outcome :)

my friend had a couple episodes like that with her singleton....the whole 1st trimester and part of the 2nd, she was bleeding every day as well. they found some sort of polyps on her uterus and something else they said it "could" be but never knew for sure. baby continued to grow and thrive. she's about 27 weeks pregnant now and still has some rare spotting but all is well. i hope your babies continue to grow and you are not too stressed out. it must be rough. take it all day by day!!! HUGS!
