    Hi everyone,
    This is my first post...)
Well, I had some bleeding at 8wks and went in for an ultrasound. They found 2 heart beats, but one was too small and everything was OK, the Dr. said the bleeding was probably a blood vessel that ruptured... I haven't had anything else since then. I'm now 10 weeks and 4 days and I'm not sure what to expect. I have an appt today and I'll probably ask for another ultrasound, but it's been hard keeping this info from my family, since we wanted to share the excitment but we're afraid that one will "go away"... Has anyone had anything like this happen??? What are the chances of me having twins??
    Thanks,
    Mom2B

I had a bad bleed at 12 weeks and went to the ER to find a large subchorionic hemorrhage. I bled for the next 8 weeks and the hemorrhage was finally gone :) I was 20 weeks pregnant and finally able to breathe a sign of relief. My beebs are almost 8 months now, they went full term and are happy healthy babies! Best wishes to you.

Basically the same thing happened to me, they thought one baby was just a sac with nothing in it at 6weeks( I had some spotting) but at 10 weeks we had another u/s and everything was fine one baby did measure 3or4 days smaller but they were only 6oz apart at birth

    good luck

At my 6 week u/s we only had two empty sacs. Not even fetal poles or anything. I prepared myself for the worst and went back around 7 or 8 weeks and there were two strong heartbeats. The fact that they found heartbeats at your last u/s is a good sign. They say once you see the heartbeats, the chances everything will be fine go up. It could be that one implanted later than the other and that's why it is smaller. I hope you can get another u/s soon to help with the worrying. Let us know how your appt. goes.

I had scans at 7 and 9 weeks that showed 2 HB's but that one baby was much smaller than the other. At 9 weeks she was measuring a week behind. This was with the vaginal wand U/S. When I went to see the Peri specialist they used the regular U/S scanner through my stomach and my babies measured exactly the same. It was just the angle of the first scans that was off. I hope you get some great news!

    Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the replies!!! :D
Well, my Dr. said everything looks good and I'll have another u/s done on Monday. I also found out that they were able to measure both heart beats, and not just one as I had thought. It turns out that one was 168 and the other was 179, which they told me today that it's good! I'm very happy and excited. I'm waiting to tell my family though. The Dr. asked me to wait a couple of more weeks...When did you guys spread the news?
    Thanks again,

I am so glad your appointment went well! I always told my close family right away because we figured we'd share bad news with them anyway, and we'd like their support. I waited until after 12 weeks to tell our kids and others.

That's what my Dr. asked me to do, to wait until at least 12 weeks. I've told my parents and my husband told his parents, we're all very close and couldn't keep it from them, but nobody else knows... I can't wait to tell everyone!

5girlies - I'm happy for you that your husband is coming home. I assume he's in the military. My baby-sister-in-law came back in December and it was such a relief to have her back! Wish you the best!

We found out at 13 wks and told everyone right away. I was actually in the lobby of the hospital shrieking and crying into the phone,

    Congratulations and welcome to Twinstuff!

awww congrats! those first few weeks are terrible. i went to the ER at 8 weeks for bleeding too, and lo and behold! 2 hbs! but those first few weeks were terrifying and i hope they go fast for you. sometimes i almost wish i hadnt gone to the ER and just found out at the 20wk u/s, lol. the ladies on here told me once i got past worrying about them both "sticking" then i would start to worry about the next thing, and they were right! lol im almost 6 months now (time went SO FAST!) and i worry about going into labor, or laying funny and hurting them, or when i havent felt much movement im afraid i did something bad, lol its endless! and now i've been told that the worrying NEVER stops, it only gets worse :) im a first timer, so i dont know any of these things. ANYHOW! i wish you the best and will keep you in my prayers. ask all the questions you need, the women here are simply amazing, i really dont know how i would have gotten through any of this without them.
