Ok, well the genders are still a mystery :( She said it was too hard to tell, and too soon. ALSO, they say the twins are mono/di, so identical........IDK what to think. First u/s they said identical and could see NO membrane between the babies, then at the NT scan di/di fraternal, 2 placentas, and now the tech and radiologist in London say mono/di identcal again. I tend to trust London a little more though. It should be interesting when I see my DR next what he says, and what the full scan report is. I am hoping he sends me for another scan before my May 21st anatomy scan, because the next one we should know for sure(genders). Ugggg, IDK what to think about all this. The babies looked great though, very active. And the most important thing is that they are NOT mo/mo, lol, at least there is a membrane. I just wish I knew if they were mono/di or di/di though, its bugging me. The tech said to go from the earliest ultrasound, and they were looking very identcal then, so, but then the other tech at the NT scan showed me the 2 placentas, unless she really didn't know what she was looking at........IDK, I am frustrated a little, and disapointed we didn't see the genders, lol.

    Here are my LO's

FWIW it's hard to tell sometimes if the placentas are one or fused. We were told at 11 weeks that we were having ID twins with one placenta and throughout the pregnancy they only saw 1 placenta and we were told we were having mo/di twins. I was just reading back through my pregnancy notes that time and even after birth the placental analysis was inconclusive as to whether there was one placenta or two that had fused. BUT... our girls are definitely fraternal. One is brunette and one is a redhead with very different facial features. The good news is that they will keep a good eye on you if they think they are mo/di since they will want to make sure TTTS doesn't happen. And you're right - there's a lot less of a chance of problems with mo/di. I'm glad it was an overall good appointment and hope next time they will find out the genders!

Ya, the 2nd tech had no idea what he/she was talking about, they are mono di.

GL! I'm glad you found someone who knew to monitor you for high risk again!

    yay!

We were also told mo/di ID. At birth, the OB confirmed it looked like one placenta. Our guys came out with the same color hair, but within a few hours we knew that they were frats. And yep, they have different blood types, hair color and eye color. But better to be treated as if this is a mo/di pregnancy, as it's more high risk. So the extra medical attention can only help, not hurt.
