I am trying to keep track of the number of words the boys are saying. So far they say about 10 words each consistently. When do you add words to the list? When they say them consistently or if they've said them once or twice? Also if they say "BraBur" for brother does that count?

I count it if they're saying the same thing more or less consistently with the same meaning. Pronunciation is irrelevant (goodness, if I required correct pronunciation, neither of them would have ANY words) as long as it's mostly consistent. "BraBur" sounds great to me -- my girls would probably say this "bruuuuuh!" :D

They do have to use it spontaneously (i.e., mimicking doesn't count). But even just once still counts, as long as I can tell that they mean something reasonably close to the actual meaning.

I count them once they consistently use them in the right context. Normally when they have a new one, they say it several times in a day. Then I count it.

New words count (this is from the ST that comes out once a month) when it is consistently the same "word" (pronounciation does not matter) and used in the right context. BraBur for brother certainly counts. Mine were pretty much just saying one syllable until recently. For instance, water was "wah", blanket "bah", etc but those still counted as words.
