for the past week or so the girls third nap has been getting shorter and shorter, so i was prepared that they were going to drop it any day now. well, that any day came today. they completely skipped it. i let them "rest" in their cribs about an hour and a half before i went in to get them. they were wide awake and that whole time i could hear them chatting, playing away.

my question is do i move their bedtime up? they usually go to bed around 6.

    any suggestions?

I would move their bedtime up to 5:30 and go from there. It may need to be earlier :pardon:

    Probably :tomato: :pardon:

Mine dropped the catnap at 9 months and had to go to bed at 5:30 on the dot. If not, they were overtired and wouldnt go to bed. But yes, we did get up with the chickens for a few months until they matured and slept longer.

When my LO's dropped their 3rd nap I did 4 hours after their 2nd nap. It did make their bedtime about 30 min earlier. I was putting them to bed around 6pm. It did take awhile to transition to this. They started waking at 5am, but would go back to sleep with a small bottle. They would sleep until 7am. It was a rough month or so. I worked on getting them on a 2-3-4 schedule. I have now at 10mo. got them back to 6:30-7pm and sleeping straight through until 6:30 or so.

    GL!!

Well, tonight I put them to bed at 5:45. That's about as far as they would make it. They usually wake up at 6:30/7 if I put them to bed at 6, so I'm hoping that they won't wake that much earlier. Fingers crossed.

They slept until 6:30. :woo: Hopefully it's not a fluke thing.

:good: that's great news! Your girls did good! When ours don't take the nap, i send them up 30mins earlier than normal around 6, Ruby ALWAYS wakes at 5am but i ignore and they sleep in till 6.30 and not a min later. Lately my girls have both decided they aren't gving up on the 3rd just yet, they have take it easily? So the month or so of hell they have given me fighting the nap off has been for god know's what! lol Sods law!

Tried to put them down for their third nap again today and they are wide awake. I guess that nap is a no go. What's funny to me is that during their other two naps they can't get to an 1: 15-30 before they need to nap again. Their second nap is over at 1:30 ish, so that means they are up from 1:30 to 5:30. They make no sense to me at all.

I have come to the conclusion that my babies are strange and do what they want, when they want and that i should just stop trying to work with the little monsters hehe
